| Good thing I woke up early, it seems! The server should be back up momentarily.

Once again it's back to the old server for now - coth.game-host.org As much as I hate to do it, I think I'm going to import all the databases (as I was planning to do yesterday) from the new server once it's back, and use the old one for a few days while I test the new one's ability to actually run for more than a day without freezing. I'm sure everyone loves the lack of latency and whatnot on the new server, but it's stability is sh*t. At least the old one doesn't freeze up like that.
As I'm sure folks have noticed by now, be sure to check the Server Status pages to see whether either server computer is actually up (you won't even be able to access the page if it's not on). Then, check to see when the last update was, to confirm whether the server program itself is actually running. Remember that the times are in PST (GMT -8).

Just to point out, as soon as the new server comes up again, I'm going to copy the databases from there and move them back to the home server, and just use the new one for testing (for a while), both for a potential new core as well as to see if it keeps randomly shutting down like that.
Once this is done, I will reopen server account registration and point all the Components back to the home server.

The new server is finally back up, so I'll be copying the databases over from there in just a few minutes. Estimated downtime is proooobably going to be about 30-60 minutes, if it takes as long as it normally does to import the database as on the other server.

Well, I have to say that my home server is certainly a lot more beastly than the dedicated one - it was able to get through the import in a matter of about 5-10 minutes instead of almost an hour, and I even had time to transfer over a new server revision.
Anyway, normal server's back up. I'll work at getting all the components and site registration and whatnot working properly again.
