As Azeroth settles after the wake of Deathwing's flight, the foot of Mount Hyjal and the roots of Nordrassil are threatened by the presence of the creeping Fire Elementals and the Twilight's Hammer. The Cenarion Circle, spread out across Azeroth and even Outland, has formed an organization known as the Guardians of Hyjal as a response to the approaching threat towards the World Tree. Despite their efforts, however, the Elementals grow stronger as the cult grows in influence. Reports have been given out on a presence that survivals can only describe in ominous vagueness. The Guardians, and the Cenarion Circle as a whole, begin to grow desperate for aid.

The call was spread out across Azeroth. As other adventurers and Cenarion druids answered the call on their own, a subgroup within the Circle formed in Nighthaven where the focus within that particular group is on personal spiritual strength and courage as well as ability to fight Nordrassil's adversaries. This group was composed of many in different walks of life--from death-dealing Harvest witches to bat-shifted trolls to newly wakened Druids of the Fang to even naive and inexperienced human travellers. With the guidance of a Keeper of the Grove, this particular group of the Guardians prepared for the flight to the mountain.

Despite their preparations, they were not prepared for the dangers awaiting for them up ahead.

1-1

Time seemed to stretch as the Guardians awaited for their means of flight. After reports from the other Guardians in Hyjal become increasingly dire, the Green Dragon, Shalara, and a flock of Hippogryphs finally arrived to take the heroes to Hyjal's forward outpost. The intention was to join the druids in the front lines and push back the Elementals and cultists, hoping their numbers would be enough to buy Nordrassil time until their adversary are fully quashed.

The Guardians couldn't be anymore wrong. Upon arrival, not only was the outpost destroyed, but the surrounding area was scorched to the depths of the earth. As the troop struggled to take in the devastation, they were approached by none other than Xaxas Himself, Deathwing. Though the troop barely avoided fatalities, the group was split as Deathwing's fiery breath seared the hippogryphs' wings. As Shalara and Deathwing locked into battle, the troop was forced to survive the flames that began to creep below.

At first, it was seemingly hopeless: one group hopped from tree to tree as the branches and roots were being devoured by the maddened Fire Elementals, with a handful even trying to outrun them on the ground. A second group found themselves completely surrounded as they were trapped in a collapsing building, having to resort to climbing higher ground in time before it fell apart to a certain doom. As soon as Shalara's wings cleared the smoke widely enough for the hippogryphs to search for their riders, the troop regained air and began to flee.... only to fly right into Ragnaros' Throne of Flame. Before the Firelord would greet the group with the swing of his hammer, the Green Dragon regained enough clarity to lead the flight straight for Nordrassil itself, where she crashed into the bank of the Well of Eternity.

The Guardian troop's guide, Keeper Buhayos, have managed to gather everyone at the Nordrassil Inn, where everyone is to recover after the harrowing flight. In honor for those who braved the flight, Shalara granted everyone each one of her hallowed scales, which the Guardians are free to use however they wish.

As everyone rests, meetings were attempted to connect with everyone in how they are recovering, but that time is being cut short as the other druids discover that the Twilight's Hammer is already directly approaching Nordrassil. They must be sought out.

1-2

As the wounded Guardians took some time to recover from Deathwing's encounter, the Twilights have made their move. While a few were taken down and captured by the watchful Druids, a couple managed to cause trouble by the streams of the sacred Well of Eternity. Knowing full well that the Twilight's Hammer will attempt destruction by reaching Nordrassil's roots, the leaders of the Guardians of Hyjal began patrols wherein the Twilight scouts are fully sought out.

The Guardian sentries, however, were not able to find the Twilights as often as they could. Deciding to take the aid of faerie dragons who dwell within the brushes of Hyjal, Buhayos' branch of the Guardians have gathered juniper berries as offerings for the otherwise elusive fey. Along the way, an encounter occurred within the barrow dens where corruption had to be cleared. Days later, an Elemental was found and forcibly flushed out. The Guardians realize that time is running out and that the search for the fey must begin if they wish to push the Twilights wholly back.

As soon as the dawn broke, the excursions for the fey and the hidden Twilights began. As many as eight spots were found among the cloaked Twilights, with over fifty quelled in a heartbeat. However, the victories were far from easy--many were gravely injured by the firefights. As the Keeper was among the wounded, the remaining Guardians, despite their differences, came together and managed the patrols bravely on their own. Regardless if the fight took place atop a steep hill, at the edge of a cliff, or atop of one of Nordrassil's own roots, the Guardians pulled through and defeated every Twilight who managed their way to Hyjal's peak.

The Guardians, however, know full well that their battle is far from over. A report came forward wherein the main camp of the Twilight's Hammer has been spotted northwest of the Nordrassil, with uncountable heads hidden within the awnings. If Hyjal's peak is to be fully secured, the Guardians must act fast to destroy this camp and purge the mountaintop completely of its intruders.

The Twilights, of course, are still very persistent. They are already putting forth their own plans of advancement, and if the previous fire fights were intense, then the Guardians wouldn't be prepared for what is happening next...

1-3

After consultation among the heads of the Guardians of Hyjal, an advancement towards the Twilight camp has been planned. With the help of Shalara, the Guardians approached the camp as the dragon wiped their numbers out before they had a chance to spread. Though the mission was accomplished, its ease turned out to be much more deceptive.

As the Guardians checked for survivors, a handful of Twilights remained--among them an Elementalist. Scalding rock elementals formed from the scorched earth to crush the Guardians, and their numbers seemed to increase with each strike. ]The Guardians fought bravely, but many left the site with grave injuries. In addition, a few had a taste of the Twilights' dark magicks, resulting in souls being rocked.

The tiptop of Nordrassil regardless is now fully secure; anymore attempts of scaling from the Twilight's Hammer would be met with great vengeance from the watching Cenarions. However, there was still a great battle fought before them further down the mountain. The Circle of Cinders is ablaze, with the Twilight's Hammer and accompanying Elementals occupying the enchanted river banks and the surrounding forests. While Hyjal natives such as the ancients and wardens are pushing the Twilights back and preventing further advancement, not much progress has been made in flushing the cult back.

The Guardians will be attempting their first major pushes against the Twilights in the Circle of Cinders. Hopefully their numbers and strengths will be enough for victors to come out alive and unscathed.

1-4

The push has begun. Several bands of Guardians rush into the Verdant Thicket in an attempt to reach the Circle of Cinders as flames blanket the forest with ash and smoke. The first two battles were won swiftly but with grave injuries, not too surprisingly... but come the third battle, the Twilight's Hammer had the accompaniment of a black Drake, turning the tides of combat to the Twilights. Worst, three commanders of this branch of the Cenarion Circle were incapacitated. Though the fourth battle was won, many were too wounded to continue.

An opportunity came for the Twilights during this dire time. As remaining Guardians head out for another search, the Twilights ambushed this party and imprisoned them in one of their camps. Despite releasing one and their location leaked and relayed to the Guardians, the Twilights managed to take control of their prisoners and plant the seeds of indoctrination. After careful planning, the Guardians rush into the cave where their brethren are held, facing them despite the Twilight control and the black dragons awaiting for them outside. Though they managed to escape with everyone accounted for, they cannot catch their breath just yet.

While the push further into the Verdant Thicket have been successful, the Twilights are fighting back with a new brand of Elementals...
