Casey Mortimere [Human]
#1
((This is a COMPLETE rewrite for Casey Harkov. The only thing the same is the name 'Casey'. So really I am just holding onto my claim to the name here. Casey Harkov will not be getting carried over to Cataclysm. Also I feel like I'm spamming the forum posting so many profiles like this one after another.))

Player: Aadora

Character Full Name: Casey Mortimere

Character In-Game Name: Casey

Nickname(s): None

Association(s): Alliance

Race: Human

Class: Warrior (No IC Class)

Skills and Abilities:Casey is not a fighter in any way. If her life depended on it she could pick up a sword and swing it but she would likely not be able to save herself in combat. She relies on the strength of others as she doesn't ever expect to put herself in any sort of danger.

Age: 18

Sex: Female

Hair: Golden Blonde

Eyes: Blue

Weight: 142

Height: 4'11"

Usual Garments/Armor: She wears robes and dresses usually, owning no armor or weapons of her own. She will sometimes carry some sort of pouch with her for anything she needs to carry, but beyond that the robe is most often the only thing that can be seen.

Other: None

Alignment: Lawful Good

Personality: Casey was raised to be a proper and well behaved woman. She is most often smiling even when there is nothing to smile about. She tries to make light of every situation though she can sometimes be a bit awkward when she is unsure of what to say. She does very poorly around those of less positive attitudes. She would never strike back at someone who talked down to her in any way, and she isn't the best at comforting the sad. Regardless she tries her best to do what she can.

Casey is no noble, but she at least tries to act it. She dreams of someday living as a true noble even if she has no real ways to make such a dream come true. That's all they are to her is dreams and she has no intention of seeking out a way to make them come true. She is just fine and happy the way her life is already.

History: Casey was born to Martis Mortimere and Lorsale Kirkson of Lordaeron. She was born after the troubles of the Horde had passed, but not before the fall of the once great city. Her parents had not yet been married, and in fact were not to be married for quite some time. She lived with her grandparents as some sign of honor. The fact that she had been born without her parents being married was a disgrace to both families, but they agreed to overlook it if she stayed with either pair of grandparents until the time that they were married. They would still be close, and they would still be a great part of her life. They even wouldn't have to give up any bit of letting her know they were her parents. It was a good deal, one truly only made because Martis' parents were excited about the child.

Casey became the baby of the family, both sides coming together to care for her. The families had long since been close as they had left the city and lived in privacy far away from the Horde together. It was there that her parents met, and it was because of this bond the families shared that she was here.

From her birth on she lived an uneventful life, her father working as a smith and her mother a tailor. They spent what they had of every day with her, and she loved them more than anything. She felt lucky in her later years, when she was capable. Lucky that she had loving parents and more through her grandparents. She didn't care about being an only child, unsure if she would even want siblings.

When Casey was eight years old her parents were finally to be married. She was proud that their love was strong enough to last so long, her father not twenty-six years old and still loving her no less. The preparations were completed and the family prepared on the day of the ceremony. But this was the day of the Scourge attack, and even as they were in the final stages before the ceremony began, the gates were blown down. When they saw what was happening, everyone panicked. There was no order to the chaos that followed. Somebody grabbed Casey by the hand, leading her away.

They ran as fast as they could, from what Casey could tell she was with her grandmother, her father's mother. They left through a side entrance of the city, but it was Arthas leading the attack. This was his home and he knew it inside and out. They couldn't have known this though, and the group of people ran out of the city straight into Scourge forces waiting for them. They knew they would escape from that direction, and they slaughtered any and all who came out. That is, until too many started to run. The Scourge killed everyone they say, or at least tried to. A few lucky people were able to escape. Casey took her first look around as they stopped to plan their next move. The Kirkson and Mortimere families were all there. All of her grandparents, and her mother. But her father wasn't there.

Before she could ask about him, she was lifted and carried away. They had started to run. A large group of people had come out and there was no way the Scourge were going to kill them all. At least not there at that moment. They had a chance at least, to escape this group and they had to act fast before this gate was reinforced with more Scourge. Not having to run on her own, she looked around at all the chaos. Everyone but her family was escaping, and she couldn't see him anywhere. She looked away from the Scourge, not wanting to see what they were doing to the people trying to get past them. They were safe, for now. The whole family had managed to slip past, not quite unnoticed but there were too many people flowing out of the city for them to kill. It was likely that soon the gate would be covered in plague, so they had just narrowly escaped.

It felt like hours that they were running, going anywhere. Trying to find any place that was safe from the Scourge, and that likely meant going to another land all together. But the city of Lordaeron was not the only dangerous place, the Scourge lurked all over the forest that surrounded it. Not too long after their escape they were exhausted, Casey now being carried by her strongest grandfather who, honestly wasn't that old himself. They stopped to rest for just a moment.

The moment was too long, and Scourge spotted them from a distance. They had no idea they were there until they heard the rattling of bones and the fast footsteps of them approaching. They managed to get up in time, and start running again. But as expected, bladed weapons was not the only thing they had. A skeletal archer took aim, and fired at the retreating group. Casey heard a scream, and looked back to see her mother fall to the ground. She cried out for her, but just a split second later they ran around a hill and her mother's body on the ground was out of sight. That day was the last day she ever saw her mother and father.

With only her grandparents, Kirkson and Mortimere alike, they moved on. They were exhausted before they finally found refuge at a small set of houses. They were fed and able to rest. They took the time to grieve for the lost, Casey more than any. She didn't know why this had happened and didn't understand any of it at all really. She knew though, that her mother was gone and most likely her father too. She had not seen her father since a while before the attack. He could still be alive, or more likely he was dead. Her grandparents comforted her, simply telling her they were gone. It was a hard truth but they knew she needed to know it. They of course, refrained from telling them what had likely become of their corpses as an eight year old girl did not need to hear that.

In the morning they took what little they had, and started to venture south. They followed the roads and rested where they could. After a long journey, they came to Dwarven lands. They were able to get help, and were some of the first to get word to them of what had happened. They were aided in transportation to safely send them even further south, into human lands again. It was there, in Elwynn Forest that they came to Stormwind. They entered the city and here began their new lives. They found shelter and work, starting to build this new life. They worked to earn enough money to buy a home for themselves, and by the time Casey was fourteen years old it was as if nothing had ever happened.

They were all heavily affected by what had happened, but they put it behind them and looked to the future. Casey went to school, and grew into the woman she is today. She has no job to speak of but with her grandparents age catching up with them from the hard work of the last ten years, she is finally preparing to step foot into the world to do whatever it takes to keep the life she has now. Her grandparents had done more for her than anyone could ever do. Bringing her parents to safety when they were young, and now they had done the very same to her. The families remained close, only being brought together even further by the events ten years ago. They consider themselves one family, even if they do not share a name.

Now that this new threat to the world has come, Casey is more scared than ever. For the second time chaos has seemed to find her as part of the city is destroyed, and who knows what the dragon's intentions are? But she does not plan to run away this time. Her family has spent so long running, and while it has saved her life up until now, it has solved nothing. She plans to rise up to meet whatever this new threat is and do what she can to stop it.

Thanks! And fixed it. For the record, if any other FHs or GMs come along to look at it, that particular word is in the 10th paragraph, 4th word of the 3rd sentence. Could you please point it out in the future? I had to search "Casey Journey" up in the search because this thread wouldn't come up with just Journey, and I couldn't find that word for the life of me xD
