Try to never just say, "My character isn't interested in that adventure." A lot of people mistake this for good roleplaying, because you are asserting your character's personality. Wrong. Good roleplaying should never bring the game to a screeching halt. One of your jobs as a player is to come up with a reason why your character would be interested in a plot. After all, your personality is entirely in your hands, not the DM's. Come up with a reason why the adventure (or the reward) might appeal to you, no matter how esoteric or roundabout the reasoning. -(Source)
The general consensus in the comments seems to be that it's a good starter tablet, but not professional quality or as sensitive as some artists might desire. That said, for the price it's probably not a bad deal, especially if you just want to see if you'll even enjoy the tablet style.

My first thoughts on it are that the Wacom tablet pens do not need a battery (this is one of the many things that mystifies me about them), and therefore would weigh much less than the pen for this tablet. That in itself isn't bad, just different (if you write with a lot of different pens, you'll notice they can be heavier or lighter, but it won't kill your style). The thing about the battery that DOES worry me is that you can run out of juice. It happens with analogue pens, too, and it's probably every bit as frustrating.

Grumping about the pen aside, it doesn't seem like a poor starter tablet.

This is what especially makes it a good newb tablet:
* Soft-tip pen with 512 levels of pressure for drawing programs such as Painter and Photoshop

I'll stick to my pweshus smeshus widdle Intuos

THAT SAID, it would make an inexpensive travel tablet for people on the go with a laptop and want to doodle on the plane or in the car on their comp (like I've done several times), but don't want to be too chancy with the marked-down ebay tablets, or it's more than they want to spend, and don't have a tablet PC. AND they don't want to drag their higher priced tablet around

I don't think the battery's too bad. Just get some rechargeables and you're all set. If you're paying 40 already, can shell out an extra $5-10 for some rechargeable batteries with the charger, right?
