Mave Frostbloom [Night Elf]
#1
Player: Whym

Character Full Name: Teneria Frostbloom

Character In-Game Name: Mave

Nickname(s): Mave

Association(s): Darnassus, Sentinels, herself

Race: Night Elf

Class: Warrior

Skills and Abilities: Those of a Sentinel; strong physical fitness, skill with the two axes she wields, field medic, survival training.

Age: 8572

Sex: Female

Hair: Short, green and often kept in a tail.

Eyes: Silvery.

Weight: 283 lbs.

Height: 7'3"

Usual Garments/Armor: Mave is often found clad in her chainmail armour. It has a rather thick padding, good for colder regions. She conceals her face with a hood, covering most of her face from view. If not in a clad of armour, she wears simple clothes, both of the options are usually kept in a darker colour.

Other: Has two pouches to her belt filled with medical equipment, whetstones and food. A waterskin and two knives are attached to her belt aswell.

Personality: Mave is -very- compassionate about her kin, even after her exile. She would give her own life to defend one of them. She feels guilt about her deed which occured years ago, trying to repay it in the way she finds most fitting. The lands of her people are sacred to her and she will not rest until the very last of the disturbances have been removed. Another flaw of hers is the distrust she has against her own people, especially the females when she does not know them for long, this however does not wash away her compassionate side, aiding them in any way possible.

To gain her trust entirely and make her expose her face, one must spend quite the time around her and talk to her. She's controlling her emotions and letting them work for her, using them in battle to assist her and improve her skills in combat further. However, they may become problems, causing her to think recklessly, ignoring all logic if she is too deep into her stance of combat and rage. She will not shy away from a battle she has picked, most of her fights end in death on either sides.

Her views are rather distinguishable, she naturally only wishes the best for her own people. Each and every enemy of the Night Elves is an enemy of her. Her view on the other races of the alliance are usually more warm due to her exile, however she will always feel most comfortable around those of her kind who still are loyal to her.

History: Mave was born a good four centuries after Nordrassil had been planted. She grew up in the cold regions of Winterspring, near where the Frostsabers dwell. Her father was a Druid, her mother a simple seamstress, not a Sentinel or a Priestess like most of the females during that time. Mave had a rather careless childhood in the north, living around the Frostsabers and establishing a connection to them from a young age.

Her education about her own people, her faith and the history of her people was not left behind though, her mother taught her about those whereas her father watched over her when she was with the Frostsabers. Eventually she grew older and her father descended into the Emerald Dream, he was a Druid of the Claw, retreating himself to Mt. Hyjal and falling asleep.

Finally, as she was around the age of 482, she made the decision to join the Sentinels and was soon proven to be an efficent and disciplined warrior. There were little to no incidents where she her discipline down. However, there was one specific sentinel, Icethorn, which she had regular internal conflicts with, not physical ones but one could easily see that they did not go along well with each other from the very beginning.

These tensions have only grown worse over the milennia, finally when the call to head to Silithus was heard, she and few of her units were travelling south to assist in the War of the Shifting Sands against the Qiraji, Mave survived this war which was neither a victory nor a loss. But so did Icethorn, both travelled back to Winterspring only to be placed within the same unit, causing the conflict to worsen.

Once again, time passed and the Orcs came, Mave's unit eager to aid in the defense of Ashenvale travelled south to aid in the defense until the Orcs were free of their curse. After the battle of Mt. Hyjal where the three races united, Mave and her unit were headed back to Winterspring, Icethorn with them.

Mave was not aware that her father had been waken up during the war and had fallen in combat, she did not know this until two years after the war where a messenger reached her with the notice. She was deeply troubled by this, causing her emotional distress and mostly rage to build inside.

And the topping of the cake was Icethorn, she directly mocked Mave for being slow about the death of her father and called her undisciplined. Mave thought that Icethorn knew her father was dead for longer than herself and lost it. She murdered Icethorn in an outbreak of emotions, a curved elven blade ended up in the sentinel's heart.

Judgement and justice was swift to come: Mave was exiled from the lands of the Night Elves and branded a 'kill on sight' for every Sentinel should she ever enter the lands of the Night Elves again. Mave had to gather herself and prepared to leave, acquiring new armour and scarring her own face to somewhat make her less distinguishable but it did not work that well. Recently she has been skulking around much in Ashenvale, fighting the orcs and travelling much.

This might be my guess, but did night elves use axes in fighting? My guess is they used only swords and daggers.

o.o

Perhaps you could also say how she felt when she found out about her father, moreso when the Tree was destroyed. Night Elves were used to being immortal, you know. What was Mave's response to knowing that she won't live forever?

They didn't. In fact, they mostly used Moonglaives and bows. However, after not having any more access to Moonglaives because y'know, with an exile they won't let you have their equipment no longer, she got axes.

She's been living long enough, it's fortunate for her that she's still alive after these wars. She doesn't really care whether she is immortal or not.

I'm talking about experience. You'd imagine a night elf would be more experienced with a sword/dagger/moonglaive than an axe, considering that they haven't been using axes for anything other than cutting wood for their other weapons.

She always stuck with a moonglaive.
Therefore she has had no experience with a sword or dagger.
So she chose axes, fitted her fighting style the most.
Different topic for a weapons discussion aswell.

Kira, one could also say that they only used bows for hunting. They used weapons as weapons, no matter the weapon it was. Popularity is only subjective to the masses.

I'm a little confused about the difference of names. Is one of them the actual name and one of them a fake name to keep her identity secret? I just need that clarified. As for the being an Exile thing, I'm only comfortable approving this if you know that there are consequences should your character get caught returning to Night Elven lands. Killing another Night Elf is a very big offense in this culture. Meaning, I don't want to see this character running around Darnassus if she is supposed to be in exile.

I'm not a huge twat, I am fully aware of all consequences and limitations this character brings.
And yes. Teneria is her -original- name which was given by birth. Mave is the name she currently introduces herself with and is usually being adressed with.

Don't worry, I won't run around in Darnassus, that'd be utterly stupid. And pretty much ignoring that all NPCs would KoS me.
Welp. I can use common sense, I'll be fine.

Whym, that was unnecessarily rude. There wasn't any need to give attitude because a GM was confirming something.
