Meltharas' introduction
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
I am a long time gamer and RPer, I have been doing forum and free form RP since 1999 and started to RP in a game setting as early as 2001. I only started to RP tabletop games around 2005, but since then I have continued to perfect my work and can honestly say that I will only even look at MMO style games if I can roleplay in them. Games that focus too much on PvP or even just PvE have less of an allure for me. I am a friendly person, and hopefully one that is easy to get along with. I am looking to first and foremost have fun with a setting that I enjoyed before the live version of it became dull for me thanks to a heavy focus on PvP and PvE.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I am from the United States, and as such American English is my primary language.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
I got interested back in College, and thanks to a friend getting me interested I decided to try out Warcraft 3 first before getting fully into WoW. I really loved the backstory, and the setting in general interested me enough to keep me going.

What made you seek our server over others? (Or how did you find us?):
I was told by a friend, Micheru, about this server and how RP-oriented it was.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
I am quite literally flexible. I do love a good, relaxing tavern RP in groups or with one or two others very much, though fantasy wouldn't be fantasy for me if there wasn't some action and danger now and then. I do my best to make RP fights fair, and I am not against actually fighting if I have to, but I am open to all styles of RP.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
I was always a Tauren back in the day, so they have to be my favorite race though most of the horde interests me as well. Druid was my favored class though, I loved how versitile I could be while maintaining my skills as a primary healer. That, and I simply loved the shapeshifting. Even though I wasn't feral, it allowed me to hold my own while soloing while still keeping the skills I valued for groups.

What are your expectations of this server?:
I hope to simply have fun and be able to enjoy the RP I didn't get in the live version of the game. So long as I have that, I will be happy.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
The rule about tolerance appeals to me the most. I have certain tastes in my character that I like to take from RPG to RPG, namely in the fact I prefer to not use humans too much. In other games, I have had to deal with a lot of haters because of it, so seeing that toleration is a rule makes me happy. I want people to enjoy RPing with me and vice versa, I don't want to spend time hearing why I shouldn't have been a Tauren or a Troll or what not.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
(I may not remake this character, but I will use my original character of my Tauren druid, Tauron. I know the name is bad, but it will be changed if I remake him XD)

The lumber mill was operating as it normally had, hidden deep within Stranglethorn Vale. The operators, a mix of goblins and humans, were milling about in preparation for their day. Overall, it would have seemed like this mill was no different than any other that dotted the forested lands...until you actually stopped to pay attention to what they were doing. For the past few weeks, a large jungle cat had stalked around the borders of the encampment to watch exactly what happened on a daily basis.

Lumber was a needed resource, there was no denying that...but normally the mills run by either the Alliance or the Horde were tightly regulated and instructed on proper care for the forest. Quotas were established thanks to the combined work of the Tauren and the Night Elf druids to make sure that the natural beauty of the forests were not destroyed too fast, and that new trees were planted for each one that was felled. Though it had been a fight to establish these regulations, they had helped ensure that the spirits of nature had remained in balance while helping supply all factions with the lumber they needed.

This mill was different, they had started up against regulation so that they could supply lumber on their own markets without the quota. They cared little for preserving the balance, and their personal littering was practically salting the earth around them as they shamelessly cut down all life that got in their way. That was what Tauron's reports had detailed for as long as he had been scouting the illegal mill...and that was why today he was not the only jungle cat prowling around the borders. Suddenly, a loud roar erupted through the air...the signal from the head druid had been sounded. Bursting from his hiding place with several others, Tauron regained his true form as he reached the staging area. The large, black furred Tauren allowed the more feral minded of his bretheren to take point, calling upon his trained skills with natural magic to keep them strong and able to fight. Calling upon the Earth Mother, he made sure that the group of druids he had been assigned to were able to complete their task of destroying the support struts of several key buildings.

A few hours had passed, and Tauron stood from where he had finished saying the last druidic rites over one of his fallen comrades to survey the damage. The mill had been reduced to ruin, and the guards had been dealt with by claw and fang. The workers were not harmed so long as they surrendered, and were currently being escorted off to spend time in chains for their crime. Sighing softly, Tauron looked to the lush forest before turning to rejoin his brethern. The natural order would return to balance in this area...but there was still so much work to do if the stain was to be fully erased. The druid allowed a smile to form on his face at the thought. After all, there was always more work to do, and he was always glad to answer the call.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
None that I can think of.

Meltharas006, welcome to Conquest of the Horde!

CoTH certainly lacks haters, for it's most part. Anywho, I'd suggest looking at our rules, policies and guides as a way to get the feel of how things roll 'round them here parts.

We also have a guide section on the forums, as well a restart profile guide of my own making, that I'd suggest glancing over before writing your first character profile as it will likely make the approval go a tad more smoothly.

If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask me in-game (I'm usually on Uthaniel, Munix, Juna or Marian), or anyone else, really! I'm also always available for a forum PM.

Have fun!
