PC and Mac Population on CotH
#1
Ohai

Just curious as to how many folk use a PC vs a Mac or whatever, for playing on CotH. Just that, not for use in work or art, just CotH playing.

Selection an option in the poll, please!

I tried using Macs. I was given a lesson on Photoshop via Mac in my high school art class. My works were crap, and it'd take me hours to do simple commands. Never touched a Mac computer since xD

(That isn't to say I don't like Apple products. My iPhone 5 is my third arm :| )

Should really be a both option, as a note!

I primarily play on my PC now that I have it, but when I'm on the go, I'll be using my macbook.

I'd rather keep it as either/or. If you use both, just select the most frequent one!

Number of accounts that a PC has most recently connected to the server: 1215
Number of accounts that a Mac has most recently connected to the server: 46
Number of accounts that don't have an OS entry (meaning they haven't connected in a long time): 1386

Try to never just say, "My character isn't interested in that adventure." A lot of people mistake this for good roleplaying, because you are asserting your character's personality. Wrong. Good roleplaying should never bring the game to a screeching halt. One of your jobs as a player is to come up with a reason why your character would be interested in a plot. After all, your personality is entirely in your hands, not the DM's. Come up with a reason why the adventure (or the reward) might appeal to you, no matter how esoteric or roundabout the reasoning. -(Source)

Can I ask what "recently" means?

So mac accounts make up 3.7% of the server population out of the known recently connected accounts.

I think the OS entry was added sometime in 2012. And by 'recently,' I mean the most recent connection was either Win or OSX.

Using a Mac for gaming...

"Hi! I'm a MAC."
"And I'm a PC."
"So what are you doing, PC?"
"Oh, just playing some games."
"Oh? What games?"
"Oh you know... All of them."

Not intending to mock MAC users here. MACs are great machines, just not for gaming.

Well, I'm Mac #2, which means the number of declared Mac users has effectively doubled since several hours ago.

That said, even as a Mac user my entire life, I won't deny that it's not a supported gaming platform. Blizzard and more recently Valve are the only two big names I can think of that have been pretty good about making their games for Mac and PC both (and actually doing a legit job, too, as opposed to other times you see Mac releases that are just buggy ciderized ports).

I ended up making a Windows partition of my hard drive for the sole purpose of gaming, but I still play WoW on my Mac side because it works there and my partition space is limited.
