Patch 3.1 - Do Not Patch!
#16
Are you running the client via the .exe file in your special CotH folder? If so...

Once you delete the patch.MPQ and repair, it should only repair to the version 3.0.0 if I'm not mistaken. You will want to then patch up manually (By getting patches from WoWwiki) and make it a habit to never run WoW via the launcher, only the .exe file.

I'm not very computer savvy. How to do I avoid patching to 3.1? I'm at 3.0.9 and I can get to the log in screen, but then it goes to the 'Downloading Update'.. thing.

What do I have to do with what files where?

So confused. Would it work to just opatch it and then UN patch it?

I just spent 2 days installing WoW JUST to play on this serber. THEN BAM!..patch.

Are you opening WoW through the launcher? Be certain to click directly on the .exe, and also check that you have replaced the realmlist file.

Ok, I think my problem is my realmlost not changing, SO.. if I am using a server list selector.. program thing, is the server address 'coth.game-host.org'?

Set your realmlist to the following to avoid patching

set realmlist coth.game-host.org
set patchlist coth.game-host.org
set realmlistbn ""
set portal us

Edit your realmlist.wtf located in your
C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Data\enUS
To read-

set realmlist coth.game-host.org
set patchlist coth.game-host.org
set realmlistbn ""
set portal us

If it still does not let you on or your are beyond patch 3.09
Delete C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Data\patch.mpq

Then run your repair.exe located in
C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\

After repair wizard is run, check your realmlist.wtf again. Be sure it reads the same as above.

After the repair wizard is done, you will be reverted back to patch 3.0,
find a suitable download site for the patches and patch manually till you get to patch 3.09
