Question about druids!
#1
Question: Would druids be allowed in their forms within Stormwind/Ironforge/human or dwarf cities?

My answer: Humans do not understand druidic magic and can not wield it. Why would they be so okay with seeing a bear/saber/tree/moonkin within their city? My answer is...they would be pee-their-pants-terrified of them. Guards and civilians alike would probably attack them or jail them once finding out they are indeed an elf.

So what do you guys think?

I agree. I don't parade in bearform around SW unless I wanted to give someone a scare and even then I make SOMEONE sees me do the transformation but now I am giving it second thoughts since it can also call IC death/imprisonment
Timothy Willaims VI: I know what this is! You are all racist against bards! Its a conspiracy!
Rorbin: A bard isn't even a race!
Timothy Willaims VI: . . .racist.

From my experience in rp on this server, Humans and night elves don't even remotely like each other. So in a city like Stormwind I don't even think a night elf could get by in leather rideing a saber. I think it would be very wise to not go near humans,( city, outskirts or small village behind the mountains) in any form other than in natural night elf form.

It is relatively easy to spot if a bear is a druid or an actual animal though. I think with 7k night elves living in Stormwind, they'd have figured out the difference by now. They might be a bit jumpy about a feral druid passing through, but then again, they'd also be jumpy about a scary death knight or an arrogant looking mage. The peasant population isn't all that brave.

People really really really exaggerate the hatred between humans and night elves, which annoys me to no end. Yes, people would probably be freaked out by druids in animal form, but I don't think people riding sabers would get in trouble, and druids might not even, especially because this has been going on for something like five or seven years now. I think people would get used to it at least a little. Besides, it's not really a crime.

Actually, I'd think sabers would be prohibited from entering Stormwind. The Alliance Player guide states that they're incredibly fond of horse meat, and that night elves aren't even allowed to join the cavalry because their mounts keep trying to eat the human mounts when they think nobody is watching.

I actually used to see it the same way you did Scout...But! With the GM activity and them controlling the guards, my point of view changed.

Many times I have seen GMs use guards to escort them from the city limits and thus has changed my point of view on the situation.

I have to agree with scout though when it comes to the tension between night elves and humans is exaggerated. Though Sabers should not be allowed in cites for being big horse eating wild animals, I think night elves should not threaten to kill people of the alliance for being in Ashenvale. Epically since there are human npc's who live and work in Ashenvale and night elves in Stormwind asking humans to go to Ashenvale. Some of the behavior I have seen personally in the way night elves treat humans would cause international uproar. I would think their governments would act a bit like ours. That being said, its international news when 1 American is injured anywhere in the world and the USA has given Brazil the evil eye over a 6 year old. I'm sure the current king of Stomwind, who has already proved to be war mongering, would not take nicely to humans being killed for entering Ashenvale. I haven't seen anything that would cause war between the races but I have seen alot of Ic behavior that would put the alliance of humans and night elves at risk and possibly at war if they got out of hand.

I'd say it is fine in the Stormwind park, but nowhere else. Especially not any other Alliance city.

The death would have to be reported first, there´s a lot of wild animals in Ashenvale, as well as the orcs and demons.

Anyway, I would say that any predator, even if a pet or mount, would be banned from Stormwind, they are simply too much of a risk. As for druids in the animal form, I´d personally say: No, they wouldn´t be allowed, they look too much like beasts, predators at that, and the racial tensions does not need more straining, I´m sure that they elves in Stormwind who I assume are more "accepting" will understand that.

True, but a lot of these would be in certain areas and some would have tell-tale signs of cause of death. Should a lot of humans start disappearing in Ashenvale then there would only be a matter of time before one or a few deaths are pinned on night elves. Assaults are sure to be reported as well since people can't keep their mouths shuts when it comes to " I went here and these guys threatened to kill me! I thought we were allies?!"

In my honest opinion, and in every game I play I always play as if there are invisible npc's and invisible land beyond the horizon and what you see is only a small apart of whats going on. If one or two players are assaulted icly then there are hundreds of invisible npc's who gone though something similar and have the same reaction to it. So even though I only know of a small hand full of players who have went to Ashenvale and have had their characters treated badly by night elves I could think that there would be invisible npc's who have as well and would would be reporting it when they got back to Stormwind, if they got back. At least that's how I see it.

Therew, I think that's an excellent policy. There are so many more people and places in Warcraft than are shown, so it's hard to believe that someone wouldn't notice something.

Well then, the relations between Stormwind and Darnassus might go sour, our server does change with the players´ actions in it.

Agreed, Cressy. I was a nooblett beforehand on this subject, in that I paraded my druid around in feral form. Big no no.

But, I know better! And if she ever is to be in any of her druid forms in Stormwind, she's remaining as an immobile tree blending into the back ground in the park. /nod

...Well. Mostly mobile. She might speak or wave a branch now and then to freak someone out. /cough
Y'know, if I could figure out how to do one of those fancy character list thingies everyone has in their signature, I would.. Soso. So. There! /pout

Also something everyone needs to remember is that...

...our server does base the mass majority of lore off of the wow, but we always will have our own personal lore. This will change with player actions(as stated), GM/Administration rulings and many other factors that many people forget.

So! Just because it has been seven years, and you'd/I'd/we'd figure it would be accepted, if the GMs play or say of it differently it should be looked at as so. I mean, it opens up new RP experiences for everyone to try.

/sagenod

Edit: I swear I know how to spell.

Edit Number 2?: I totally remember what I was going to say now. Bahaha. My druid has personally -witnessed- a guard's physical violence on a druid in bear form. That is why she feels that way. I'd assume because of this that the other people of Stormwind or even guests of there would have basic knowledge of this. Er, something like that.
