Recommended games.

I'm finding myself incredibly bored when I'm not on WoW nowadays, so I'm looking to get a new game today. Can anyone recommend anything? (I have Steam, so Steam games are not a problem).
Incidently I'm not really a fan of RTSs and the like (alothuhg I did like WC3).

I can really reccomend Medieval Total War 2. It's a mix between Turn-based and Realtime Strategy, and one of the more successful series around - It tends to get monotone after a while though, but before it does, it's usually great fun.

I can also reccomend some RPG'ish games, like Mass Effect and Fallout 3, that's also rather fun until they're not.

Get Mount and Blade, it's amazing...

It's played mainly from a generic top-down map, you click and your little man walks around the world. But you can build your own army, hiring individual units, and gets armies up to 100 or 200 large.

And when they battle, it's a huge battlefield, and all your units are walking around and fighting on the battlefield.

Cavalry charges are awesome.

Move him into the sun—
Gently its touch awoke him once,
At home, whispering of fields half-sown.
Always it woke him, even in France,
Until this morning and this snow.
If anything might rouse him now
The kind old sun will know.

Think how it wakes the seeds,—
Woke, once, the clays of a cold star.
Are limbs, so dear-achieved, are sides,
Full-nerved—still warm—too hard to stir?
Was it for this the clay grew tall?
—O what made fatuous sunbeams toil
To break earth’s sleep at all?

Mount & Blade is pure super awesome party fun time.

I think another good game is KOTOR (Knights of the Old Republic) Since i wub Star Wars and its sort of like Neverwinter nights with lightsabers and blasters (So yeah just replace swords and bows)

And Garry's Mod while not a "Game" Per say is the Half life mod type thing and its really fun to play

Besides from that im out of touch

Oooh, I agree! The First KOTOR-Game was plain excellent, if memory serves (and sometimes, it actually does).

Saints row 2, it has a great mix of third person shooterness, with some RPG influences.

Fable 2, if you don't mind bugs, it's great.

Fallout 3, perhaps Oblivion?

Okay, a lot to reply to.

RTW2 has good ratings, yes, but I really don't like those sorts of games. I'm not too sure why; I just don't.
I saw the advert for Mount and Blade before it came out and it looked pretty cool. Shame they didn't implement some sort of online gameplay. That's a maybe.
I played KotOR on my Xbox and yes, it was awesome. Shame about KotOR 2. Aren't they releasing a KotOR MMO? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swtor
I would get Gmod if they had it in disc form. I'm always reluctant to download things in case they f*** up.
Both Fallout 3 and Oblivion were owned by a friend on 360 so I've kinda of already played them (well, Fallout not so much). Haven't played the Oblivion expansions though.

Battlefront 2 is like... THE Star Wars game. It's like they took Battlefront 1... and just made it even better!

Has all the features of BF1, but effectively tripled the amount and abilities. You can have an all Jedi vs. all Sith fight on the ground. You can have regular unit fights on the ground, or in space. You can have full-out ship battles WITH UNIT FIGHTS at the SAME TIME.

For the sake of all that anyone has ever considered good and holy, you need Battlefront 2!

*Slaps herself* I'll get off now. >.>

Well according to a friend I was with at the time and some other people BF1 is better. I've only ever played BF2 on a PS2 on that Jedi vs. Sith mode.
