Eeyupp, it's true. Today Disney bought Lucasfilms from George Lucas who said he wanted Star Wars to outlive himself, so he's passing it on. At the same time, they announced Star Wars: Episode 7.
What do you guys think? Is it bad? Is it good? Could this be awesome or be the final nail in Star Wars' already nail covered coffin? Is Leia now a Disney princess?

I've never been a big Star Wars fan, so the politics and business of the franchise has never bothered me. As such, I say...why not? I'll give it a look if it comes out for the sheer spectacle alone.

I'll say this once...Damn it. I personally think Disney will ruin a star wars episode 7, but it may make some cool mini series, you just never know with Disney. It's made both really bad and good films :P Guess I'll just have to see.

Well, just like Scow mentioned in the shoutbox, Star Wars didn't really crash and burn until George Lucas got complete creative control of the franchise. This is just as likely to save Star Wars as it is to kill it.
There's only one way to find out for sure, though. I'll be waiting for that movie.

Welp.
Either it's either going to be an animated movie styled like what Cartoon Network tried to pull off with Clone Wars or a legit movie.
Hopefully the latter.

Think about it, when's the last time you saw Disney try to do something animated? They've sort of left that path.

I assume they'd dish it to Pixar if they want it animated, but who knows?

I'm not bothered, actually. I consider myself a pretty average Star Wars fan (as in, I grew up loving the hell out of the original trilogy, only to recoil in the horror that was the prequels). George Lucas has murdered the franchise way beyond repair, so at this point it doesn't matter.
So, I'm pretty indifferent to the whole thing.
Leia as a Disney Princess is pretty hilarious, though.

I think they've conluded that they get more money from live action these days, with the Pirate moviesand Marvel movies.
Really, I don't see a middle ground here. either this movie will be Avenger quality stuff, or it will be on the level of the Jar-Jar Binks holiday special wristslasher fest.

On the bright side Seth Green is coming outwith a new Star Wars cartoon.
I'm sure this series will be good and definitely not ruin the series any further.
Right guys? Right?
...Guys?
(But really I'll give it a chance since it's Seth Green)

Quite odd, as the series has neither release nor broadcast channel yet.
