The Windwaker
#1
Spoiler:

"This whole world's gone straight to hell, if you ask me. Men squabblin' over how a feller looks or what his great-grandpapa did, it's Light-damned nuts. One day someone's yer friend, the next week ya gotta kill him because some jackass in a funny hat got mad at some other jackass in a funnier hat. There ain't no sense in the world anymore- ya gotta make yer own, and to that I offer you a place in my family. No bullcrap, just hard work to earn your stay and givin' the respect you want in turn. We judge a man by his crafts, here.
And if you know a feller who needs something done? Drop him a line, we could use the business."

~Hrodebert Rivermouth, Captain of the vessel "Windwaker"

<The Windwaker>

High Adventure on the Open Seas!

Outcasts on Society's Fringe

The Windwaker's story is one as interesting as the family that commands it, the Rivermouths. Built by hand by the dwarf Hrodebert and funded by the somewhat wealthy elf Jami, early days of the ship's life was spent charting the Eastern Kingdoms' coastlines, plundering fortune from pirates and ne'er do wells, and shipping goods between Lordaeron, Khaz Modan and Azeroth. She endured the Second and Third Wars, though was never officially used in the Alliance, but with the Scourge destroying much of Lordaeron times got very rough for the vessel and its multiracial crew. An unstable economy shook up the family's funds, and the collapse of the the Alliance made times politically tense. Thus, the ship and the Rivermouths went into obscurity for several years as the world around them radically changed in an exceptionally quick timeframe.

Aim to Misbehave

During the hiatus, the Windwaker was slowly rebuilt and repaired, and moored off the coats of Arathi near the Rivermouth's private farmstead, the family moved to once again set out into the world. However, times are even tougher than they were before, with old factions shifted and war breaking out in every corner of the earth. Desperate to stay afloat and stay independent, the Windwaker expanded its resume to accept any job it can grab, no matter how illegal it may be.

The world has become a dangerous, daring place, and so earn your right to live in it, you must be ready to cut whatever piece you can and take it for yourself! Compassion is valued among the family, but a weak will gets you nowhere. The Rivermouths will smuggle cargo, hunt bounties, raid tombs and pawn the findings to museums, and whatever else it takes to keep their family fed and happy. Governments are for interfering with people's lives, so they've no qualms in interfering with their laws in the grand scheme of things.

Part of the Family

Serving the Windwaker means more than being a hired hand. It makes you part of the family, and family stick out for each other. So long as you do your part and show respect, you'll have a place to call home. A roof over your head, food to eat, and someone to talk to. Sounds good, right? Thought so. Just whatever you do, never betray the Rivermouth family's trust.

<Guild Information>

The Windwaker is a true neutral mercenary style guild, open to any race or class (though subject to the Rivermouth family's personal biases). It's theme is built less around vessel technicality and crewmen, and more around the concept of extended family, friendship, and selfishness. To secure their own livelihood, the Rivermouths will do whatever it is that needs doing to keep themselves afloat in the world. Society turned its back on them, so they're returning the favor! Anyone who wishes to serve on the Windwaker must have some skill or talent that can be made use of for the good of the family, and those who serve long and loyally enough becomes as good as family to the Rivermouths.

Adventures will transpire all across the world, the Windwaker knows no limits. Be it treasure hunting the Lost Isles, or plundering the ruins of Uldum, or smuggling cargo through blockades, if the Rivermouths think they can pull it off, they'll do it. This isn't to say they're murderous vigilantes- far from it in fact, they'll offer a hand to anyone who is also down on their luck- but their first and foremost sense of loyalty is to themselves.

Ranks and Rules

Skipper:

The Skipper is the captain of the Windwaker,
one Hrodebert Rivermouth.
His word is law, so don't make him mad.

Family:

Family members are those who have become relatives of the Rivermouths
including the Rivermouths themselves.
Their word is to be respected by all unless the captain overrides it!

Officer:

Officers are crewmates of the Windwaker who've climbed the chain of command
and earned the dignified respect of the Rivermouths.
They can manage the ship in their absence and take jobs for themselves.

Crew:

Crew are just that: crew members of Windwaker.
Cooking, cleaning, managing the sails, cleaning the hull, all that fun
and grueling work is done by these guys.
People who join the Windwaker are all considered "crew", there's no specialized ranks.

Associates:

These are folk who, while not formally members of the Windwaker's crew,
are still in close cahoots with them.
These are mission givers, clients,
and even close friends who just don't serve on the ship.

Skipper's Law:

The Captain's word is final on any and all matters!

Do your job, and you'll do fine.

Never disrespect the Missus.

We're out for ourselves, not out to hurt others. Learn the difference.

You're free to express your complaints.

We're not a democracy.

Never plot against the Rivermouths.

Current Crew Roster:

Hrodebert: (@CappnRob)
Dwarf hunter, captain of the Windwaker. Originally an independent trader, Hrodebert built the Windwaker to expand his business. After the Third War devastated his finances, he struggles to make ends meet by becoming a freelance mercenary.

Jami: (@ImagenAshyun)
Blood elf mage, first lady of the Windwaker. A formerly-wealthy elf from Lordaeron City, Jami married Hrodebert after the Second War and contributed much of the ship's original funding. She serves primarily as the ship's scholar and seeker of adventure.

Tak: (@Spix)
Gnome rogue. A former airship captain who was betrayed by a goblin and lost everything he had, he came into the Windwaker's family in a drunken stupor in Ratchet one night and swears revenge for all that was taken from him.

Sylineri: (@Scout)
Blood elf mage. A vagabond dancer and entertainer who never had much money, Sylineri was left starving and exiled from the town of Mudsprocket. She came into Hrodebert and Jami's graces in exchange for keeping the ship clean.

Matharius: (@Krilari)
Worgen mage. An intellectual adventurer who found interest in the Windwaker at a job fair in Dalaran, and wishes to partake in the ship's daring ventures into the unknown.

Norell: (@Mathias)
Goblin rogue. A previous adventure companion from other venture, Norell signed onto the Windwaker to better collaborate their efforts in Uldum and so Hrodebert may help the goblin secure his future business as a professional cook.

Grimaldi: (@Kindle135)
Goblin "caballero". An odd-talking gunslinger who came onboard the ship via contract of convenience. Hrodebert doesn't much care for his attitude, but another gun is always welcomed and handy.

Ereneas: (@WindZealot)
Blood Elf... something. Hrodebert repeatedly encountered Eren at Uldum as a listless wanderer without purpose or home. Pitying him (and hoping to instill some responsibility in the boy), he took him in.

Perhaps it is your imperfection that which grants you free will, that allows you to persevere against cosmically calculated odds. You prevailed where the Titans' own perfect creations have failed.
