Hello!

Have your characters ever toiled through days and sleepless nights to make something special? Have they ever sought out an ancient weapon from their forebears? Have they been gifted a great boon from dragonkind or the forces of evil? If so this is for you!

Anyone who's been on the skype chat when I'm around knows I've been talking a lot about artifacts and how interesting they can be in motivating the characters in peoples' long-term storylines. One thing I think a lot of people would like to do is show off the items that are most important to their characters and their plotlines. Luckily we have a place that's perfect for just that: the wiki! Over the last week I've made up a template and a set of examples to help people produce wiki pages for the artifacts that are important to their storylines.

I hope that this can go some way to putting artifacts and special items in wider circulation, perhaps even to give players ideas for daring thefts or an item to pass down from master to apprentice.

Spoilered below is the basic template/guide.

Spoiler:

==Appearance==

What does your artifact look like? What is it made of?

==Enchantments/Abilities==

Does your artifact have any special powers or enchantments? Disclaimer: you do need to get these approved by a GM.

==History==

Tell us the story behind your item! How was it made? Why did they make it? What notable things have been done with this item over its lifetime?

I believe the coordinates are 463 239 160 (if that makes sense) otherwise to find:

Enter Ghostlands through EPL portal while on a flying mount, fly straight up, and follow the bottom edge of the mountains, make a right angle-turn upwards, towards silvermoon, and you should find it. It's just on the other side of the mountain range.

It's very nice and would be a great area to have!

Thanks!

We were farting around on GMI doing some silly PvP stuff, and I'm not sure how often this would be used, but I just thought it might be fun to have an option on the GMI portal to teleport to one of the arenas-- but in a phase. Say, Org arena, Circle of Blood, or Gurubashi, but with the exit blocked off. That way we would be in the phase and not running willy-nilly all over. Probably easiest to do with the Orgrimmar arena I think (does that even still exist? I don't know.)

Not a necessity or something that would be used all the time, just for occasional shenanigans. (The reasoning being that you can't actually do PVP derping on GMI because of the Elemental Blessing.) Since this isn't the focus of the server and since so many spells and things are bugged, this would be purely for nonsense fun.

So, I was thinking recently on Steamwarriors, and their Steamsuits. And a problem that I've oft had with playing Steamwarriors is that it's difficult, at least for me, to represent their steamsuit. Now, of course, you can get yourself up in bulky armor and write it in emotes and your TRP, but I know for and a handful of others that such effort doesn't really cut it. It kinda cuts out the imposing and threatening aspect of a steamsuit when it's just a guy in some spiky armor. At least that's my opinion. I know others differ in this, but there it is.

Of course, they could open up a CMC, but if they already have one or if they have plans for one, that's ruined. Plus, I've always imagined that CMCs are supposed to be creatures or construcs of a rare sort, and with all the shredders in Ashenvale and Stonetalon, as well as the machines in Gnomeregan, I can't really see that rarity passing over to Steamsuits.

So, what I would suggest is that Steamsuits are made into mini-CMCs, in the line of Dark Iron & Wildhammer Dwarves where they're completely optional. If one finds it good enough to say in their emotes that they're in a steamsuit, then more power to them. However, if the player in question doesn't really find that enough, then I believe that they should be given an option that requires extra thought into the character, while not pushing steamsuits as something near foreign to Azeroth.

So, what say you, CotH? Do you believe that Steamsuits should be taken down to being an optional mini-CMC, or kept as a CMC as is?

I don't know if it's been brought up yet or not, but I thought that we should have portals next to the (functioning) graveyards to allow for faster return to our original location, as deaths, be it the rare open-world mishap or, more commonly (and what I struggled a bit with recently) is dungeon/raid deaths, such as in Stratholme. I died in a run for some gold, ended up all the way in Westfall and had to fly to Goldshire to find a portal. Yeah, it's a minor issue, but one I think could be resolved simply by having a portal right next to these places. They don't have to be 'linked' by other portals as well, in that these would essentially be one-way portals.
Also, removing the debuff from rezzing at the Spirit Healer would be nice, if that's possible.

With the certain changes to how things are done on CotH, I was thinking it could be an idea to free up the lock down on cross breeds as they are a very cannon phenomena and they wouldn't be so rare especially between High Elves, Humans and Dwarves in the Alliance. Ogres and Orcs would also have probably got together from time to time in Draenor but less than their Azerothian counterparts (maybe?) as their differences are greater than the differences in intellect between Dwarves and Humans, and they also have greater physical differences.

I however understand the fear for the snowflakes to come pouring down if this happened, and thus I propose that we open it to discussion before coming to any conclusions. Things like what races should we accept as half breeds. After all there are some races that might not be compatible, or that we decide shouldn't be compatible despite Comic Book lore. (Medan being an example of what could be an OTT hybrid character). I would suggest that hybrids, if ever allowed would be a special profile type thing.. But I would also suggest that we ease up on the regulations. Say you have a Human who has like 1/16 dwarf blood in him. Is that lore breaking? No. Would that give him strong dwarven traits? No. He would be maybe slightly shorter than his peers, and might have like paler skin and ginger hair. But most people would think he's just a short gingerman. Details like this could be nice in explaining things like Orcs who have a strong enough connection to arcane magic to become mages could be explained like "Yes, generations back, there was an Ogre Half Breed in my linage". (supposedly the mage class in orcs was to do with their connection with the Blood Elves and Forsaken right?). OR it could account for the crazy amount of Dwarves who I see scaled to the size of a blood elf female. It would strengthen the sense of a bond between cultures that have stood together for a long enough period of time. Say you wouldn't have any adult Night Elf/Human Hybrids so that wouldn't happen, nor would there be anything with the Draenei.

So my suggestion on which races would possibly have interbred enough for it to be playable.

Orc/Ogre

Dwarf/Human

Human/High Elf

I'd like to hear opinions on the matter and hopefully get a decent debate on the go. Keep it chill, and polite though, please.

Peace.

Peace.

So...it may be a little too early to request this, both because I'm still a peon and because we've yet to kick off the actual RP. But I'll go ahead and post this anyway, for future reference or otherwise.

I've begun to put in motion the formation of the Split Skull, a lounge and shady shop run by the guild Shadow Emporium. We've selected a small part of the Karazhan catacombs for the location due to it's atmosphere, it's size and it's general awesomeness. I understand that, at one time, the catacombs were occupied quite often, but now sit alone and abandoned. My hope is that by setting up this little hub, we can breathe some life into the catacombs once again, as well as give the shady and morally ambiguous characters wandering across Azeroth a unique little place to call home. Maybe even birth potential RP plots from it, too.

The little slice of the crypts I've selected is in the Tome of the Unrepentant (which I assume is a typo). There seems to be some alterations made (unless the furniture has always been there) so we can still set up shop under the current circumstances. However, assuming it is not too much trouble, it could use some livening up.

Lounge area:
http://i.imgur.com/YqDxAxD.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/7EWJXpu.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/BgTmaVJ.jpg

Obviously the most altered part of the catacombs. It can easily be used for the desired purpose, though some little additions might be nice, regardless. Mostly in a blood elven style; hookahs with cushions surrounding them, maybe a rug or two, maybe some tapestries or paintings. Maybe a couple of those little couch-things that you can find around Silvermoon. Some mage tables, too (like the ones in the human manor). The secret room can be...something nefarious? Or maybe just an office of storage space. Also, some additional sources of light might be nice.

Shop area:
http://i.imgur.com/Xk6UCRi.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/Jv1X4Iy.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/3pBXHJW.jpg

We can easily say the sarcophagi are used to store items, but some large shelves of various doodads and thingies would also be lovely. The store has no real specialty, though it will be a place where people can buy various weird and sometimes dangerous items (various reagents, animal/humanoid parts, etc.). If there are shelves in that game that reflect that (from alchemy trainers and so on) that would be awesome. Also, additional light sources.

If this is asking too much, I understand. Especially seeing as we've not opened it for business yet. Still, I have high hopes for this and the RP it may bring, and I hope that you guys see the potential that I do.

Thank you. *awkward bow*

Hey guys!

Just wanted to briefly mention this what with the whole durgen focus going on and with new special profiles but in case @Kretol maybe hasn't investigated it yet you can tie commands to items with a touch of C++ coding which would allow you to make items that toggle a morph on and off without GM powarz.

I haven't done it in a while but if I recall correctly it was super easy, anyway just thought I'd throw it out there.

I have noticed that not all holidays are in CotH. One of those holidays is Children's Week. I remember that it was the first holiday in WoW i have ever taken part in. It was one of the most fun ones, too. I would like to request that this holiday be brought back in. I await eagerly for a response

Hello too any and all who read this.

I have decided to put this hear to try and push for Alcaz island, to have it's creatures phased or removed.

Too any and all who have been around CotH for a while you might remember the island. It was basically a place of chaos where pirates could trade for slaves and people could go for generally nefarious purposes.

The location seems to be in the rp locations lists but if someone tries to rp there then they are attacked by Naga and various other creatures so I was wondering if we could please have this phased for players to rp in, as I feel it will invite a darker element to our world of CotH. (There is only so much you can get away with in Booty Bay.)

So to sum up, please could we have the island phased?
