The Undermine! Bastion of greed, gold, and goblin ingenuity. The subterranean capitol of the goblins sets beneath the (now slightly more active) Mount Kajaro, and holds a bustling population of esteemed businessmen and mechanics. Due to the recent eruption and destruction of the aboveground city of Kezan, the Undermine has sealed itself to prevent any further damage. Though safe from much of the destruction of the Catalcysm, the Undermine is not wholly without damage-- many passages have crumbled, separating the city into different regions. As well, some structural damage has been incurred and is undergoing repair. In the wake of this most of the trade princes have blocked off their domains for reconstruction.

Luckily the Steamwheedle Cartel has no plans of doing so! The Steamwheedle's portion of Kezan remains open to travelers via the ingenious goblin 'transpolyporters', and businesses are more than willing to sell their wares to travelers passing through.

“Farseer Drokul, High Anchorite Heran, my friends it is good to meet with you once more.”

The sun sat high in the sky, breaking in through the temple’s broad opening. A woman of tall stature though frail form walked her way into the structure with a hardwood cane keeping her upright. Two figures stand within the shadows, both of their heads tipping in respect as the uttered in unison.

“Greatmother Isana.”

The aged draenei centered herself before the small altar, tipping her head to both of the men beside before clearing her throat.

“I’m sure you both are aware by now why we’ve called this meeting... It’s not often that we face such a dilemma but it has come to us whether we like it or not. Shattrath, as you two remember, has become a host for refugees of all kinds from all wars. However this great city is not what it once was... Even it’s massive walls overflow with the poor and unfortunate of all backgrounds. So they have come to us.”

Before the woman could continue the robed anchorite interjected with a mild-mannered voice.

“We have a number of delegates sitting just within the temple gates. People from worlds beyond are arriving now and they are sick and tired of war just as the rest of us are.”

“However...” Began the Farseer with his gravel-like voice. Before continuing he made an idle swirl in the air with his hand. “These... these... Shattered sun, Mag’har, Dalaran, Alliance, Horde, all of them.. Do you two not remember the wars fought? The orcs and their demons have compromised us once before. I can not say for sure that they will not do so again. Plus I cannot trust these outlanders to keep their -war- out of our temple.”

“While it is true we can not trust every refugee, this place was crafted as a haven. It would put us to a shame and them through a hell to keep our door closed to these needing people.” Quiped the Greatmother as she idly shifted her weight.

“I’m not going to drag this out. Truth be told I believe we can overall benefit from the influx. It will give us more guardsmen, more business, and it will give them a home. I vote that we allow them to enter.”

“Brave words, Greatmother.” Commented the High Anchorite once more. “If you are so sure of these men and women that you will open our gates, then I have enough trust to follow you. I will cast my vote to open the city.”

Two sets of eyes now turned upon the Broken Farseer, awaiting his words.

“I believe you two know what I wish to say, but I find myself on the failing end. If anything I plead we restrict access to the full temple until we are sure that these... people can keep themselves peaceable.”

“A reasonable request.”

Isana tapped her staff against the stone floor as she stood in contemplative thought.

“Open the Commons Quarter and the Residential Quarter. This will allow access to all of the necessities and shops while still keeping what we keep dear closed. Is that a fair compromise Farseer?”

“Fair enough, I suppose.”

“Then let us bring in the delegates. We’re going to need to get much of this city in order. Hopefully the Shattered Sun from Shattrath will be able to provide some organization to all of this.”

Set upon the shattered lands of Draenor, the Temple of Kurettrath manages to find peace upon a large section of land floating along Nagrand. Founded originally in pursuit of peace from the slaughter Kurettrath now has bore witness to darkness and tragedy. Both the Temple’s founder and it’s shamanistic leadership had been struck down in the war against the demons, but the founder’s mate, Isana, has lived on to take the honorable title of Greatmother. At her side are Farseer Drokul and High Anchorite Heran and together they are the trio that oversee the leadership of the Temple and it’s people.

The Temple has a diverse offering for those that pay visit. Among many other things the Temple can offer:

-A Temple proper where sermons of the Light can be viewed
-An open and interactive planetarium which holds records of vast knowledge
-A Trade District with various professions represented
-A Residential District

Vale's Heart

Vale's heart was one situation at the 'heart' of the elven lands, before the section known as Felwood was corrupted. The village was very peaceful, lead by a wise Archdruid, and housed mostly the families of other druids so they could be close to the resting dens. The aid of Warden Thornsnap and her recruits was enlisted some time after Felwood began to change and attacks started to happen to the citizens of Vale's Heart. The Archdruid felt he was needed in the dream more than he was outside and left the village in the warden's more than capable hands. Even though times became hard, the warden and her soliders were able to stop any unneeded deaths from happening.

The village began to slowly withdrawal from the rest of the world as the demonic attacks continued on it's borders. Some druids were awakened in order to lift the village further into the mountains, shifting the land around it to make it inaccessible by foot, though visitors could still fly there. The attacks began to lessen after the drastic move was made and the village returned to what normality it could. Warden Thornsnap's soldiers began to have a much larger presence as time went on, soon erecting guard towers to help protect the village better. Some citizens began to complain about feeling caged in, but Thornsnap did her best to quell their fears.

When the third war came about, the druids in the den were woken to aid with the battle at Hyjal. Though the battle was won, the citizens of Vale's Heart took the loss of immortality hard, going as far as to try to start up a few riots. Warden Thornsnap was able to put them down quickly enough and remove them from the village. After some time, the druids and some warriors returned to the village. Many of the druids returned to the den, but some remained out and active. The village went to rest that night, but woke up to turmoil.

Not many are sure what happened, but they saw Warden Thornsnap strike down the Archdruid and her soldiers driving the other druids in the village to their den. The Archdruid, half alive, was thrown in there with the rest of them and the entrance sealed. Many were scattered about the streets, dead, and many more were in the process of dying. No one managed to survive, even with the aid of the priestesses. It was explained to the citizens as the druids having been corrupted by the Nightmare and that they started a massacre in the middle of the night. The warden and her soldiers were hailed as heros and Thornsnap made the true leader of Vale's Heart.

After the slaughter, the village was closed off to the rest of the world fully, no one allowed to enter or exit. Vale's Heart has been hard-pressed for supplies, but does its best to make due. Only recently has the village opened again, though to those keen of eye might notice that something just isn't right...

Alliance Noble Estate

Hello hello!

So, to compliment the Blood Elven estate that was created I'm releasing my Alliance-oriented estate! This area is meant to be a representation of a large fortified noble similar in styling to that of Caer Darrow. This was made due to the relatively small locale of the actual manors furnished with the OOC portal. The manor is bare of any NPCs save a small detail of royal guardsmen assigned to the land, as well as a handler for horses. These NPCs will be covered below.

The manor is somewhat open to interpretation; you can state it's a family keep, or a newly refurbished abode. You can explain the decor as patriotism, or as nothing more than patriotic fluff to fool the visiting officials. A generic backstory for the area is that it is a remote Arathi estate which has been refurbished for nobility by the crown of Stormwind, who has employed some soldiers to the area to ensure the safety of those on the premises. Of course, as mentioned above you can change this as you need.

There are also planned extensions which have yet to be included (and will be added if demand and interest is great enough). Below I'll give a full detail of what I've added and what can be added:

Current Features:

-A small garden, both for the alchemists among you and the ordinary gardener.

-A residential castle, housing one main bedroom, an informal dining room, a study, a kitchen, and two bedrooms for your family.

-A guard house with a bell to ring in the new day (or signal intruders), complete with a bunkroom below.

-Four small servant's homes, including the top floor of the dining hall (inn), which can serve as a resting place for visiting dignitaries' assistants.

-A dining hall (inn) with a grand banquet table, including a basement and kitchen.

-A blacksmith and training yard.

-Three homes for your more esteemed colleagues (knights or visiting nobles, etc).

-A stable.

Possible Additions:

-Graveyard and chapel (completed, not added).

-Mausoleum (conjoined to graveyard).

-A mage's and warlock's tower; the mage tower added to the garden (gate is visible currently), and the warlock's tower added to the mausoleum.

The possible additions require custom objects to be made by Kretol, which is why I'm awaiting to see if they're worth including. If the area gets use, I'll add them!

Using the Area:

First off, some rules.
-As with all areas, first-come, first-serve.

-That being said, only nobles of Alliance races may inhabit the residential keep. If you wish to RP there otherwise, you may use the other areas with an unspecified noble, but actual noble houses take precedence to others. If you must use the area while other RP is going on, you may wish to work out a compromise (a la, one group using one part while the other is in another section).

-NPC rules: All visible NPCs are wards provided by Stormwind for the benefit of the nobility in good standing with them. Because of this they follow Stormwind's law -in general-.

To this effect, the NPC guards will not do dirty work for you. They will turn a blind eye to most wrongdoings (you can explain this as furnishing them with a pretty penny if need be), and only will truly react to outright murder on the premises. They will not use lethal force to remove an offending guest unless the guest chooses to battle it out-- however, be aware that the amount of guardsmen spawned -are- the only amount of Stormwind furnished guardsmen by default.

Guardsmen will again ignore or can be bribed to disregard Horde players, but may testify to their presence if the noble is ever brought before a court.

-You may have servants be NPC'd by your own emotes. However, I'd urge you not to do it in the capacity where you have a small army at your behest.

Hello everyone! I'm here to announce the opening of an area that I've been working on for a nice bit of time.

It is a Blood Even estate made to represent where the noble families of Silvermoon might be living. It was made so that characters would no longer have to pretend that an area they were RPing at did not have outside NPCs in it and so that other players wouldn't get confused if people were telling them that Fairbreeze wasn't really Fairbreeze. The only NPCs present here are Royal Guards and a few Silvermoon Citizens that represent the IC guards and servants most nobles have (and that are frequently puppeted).

How did I decide what to put into the estates? Back in the first Conclave of Silvermoon, I had each noble House do an introduction which consisted of their name and what their house did. Using the answers from the second questions, I tried to add in a little something for every house so that it would be easier for them to call the area 'home'. If there isn't something there representing a house, then either the House joined the Conclave too late, there was no way to represent what the House did or an answer was never really given.

Features:

Large garden with a stage

Military area with a forge

Three one-story homes [One with a kitchen and one with a bathtub]

Library/sanctum

Graveyard with a small shrine [Shrine provided by Sol]

A stable [Decorations by Caravan]

One adobe with an alchemy station on the balcony

Custom seating! There are stools hidden in objects around the estates that allow you to sit elsewhere beyond chairs. (For example: The boulders, statues and platforms in the garden.) Special thanks to Caravan for this!

Using the area:

'Claiming' the area.

As with most RP locations, the estates is a first-come, first-served area. If someone is there RPing in the location before you, then respect that they were there first and use the location at a different time. The location for the area shows up as 'Arathi Highlands', so if you see a mass of people there, there is a good chance the area is in use. If you are still not sure, whisper someone who is in the location and ask what area they are at. If, for some reason, there is ever a dispute over a location, do not hesitate to call in a GM.

The NPCs

There are servants and guard NPCs around the estates. These guards 'belong' to whoever has 'claimed' the estate at the time. The NPCs cannot be used to kill another player UNLESS it is part of a storyline and both parties have agreed upon it. The most they can be used for otherwise is preventing your character from being killed in their own homes and escorting unwelcome/unruly guests off the property. They are really just there to make sure players cannot be assassinated with the excuse of the guards not being present. The NPCs -never- leave the property. They cannot be used as a personal army.

If you feel the NPCs are being abused by the current inhabitants, please contact a GM with screenshots and logs. Abuse of the NPCs will not be tolerated.

It's...neutral?

You might have noticed that both the Alliance and Horde can enter the area! Why is this?

Many blood elven Houses seem to enjoy making alliances with members of the other faction. I decided that with this location, these allies will be able to visit to either get assignments or hang out with their allies. However, the area CAN NOT be 'claimed' by members of the Alliance. They can be in the location and RPing provided that someone from the House they are allied with is there as well. Otherwise, we'd like the area to be open for use by another noble House. Members of the Alliance also have NO control over the NPCs. They will only listen to the House and cannot be ordered to 'obey allies' as well.

All the NPCs are set to be friendly to all factions. If one starts attacking you, let a GM know so it can be dealt with. If the neutrality of this place starts to get abused at all, I will switch it to Horde only. If a problem happens, please contact a GM with screenshots/logs.

Hey!

Spoiler:

We didn't even need a filter on this one. It's really that grimey.

Welcome to Dredgetown.

All that glitters is not gold, because if there were any gold left here it would've already been ripped out. Goblin housing at its finest: an amalgamation of regulationless factories, sweatshops, tenements and warehouses await on the other side of the bridge.

But, Caravan, this looks kinda cool, too! Oh, it most assuredly is! So what's so great about it other than all dat smog?

Well, my friends, Dredgetown is positively littered with 'Random Encounters' -- flavor areas and NPCs that serve as mini-events, mini-quests, and RP-sparkers. A good many of them require GM puppeting (such as a Mugging) but others (such as a few Alley Dogs and a Fight Club) are open for players to use freely. As was the case with the touristy place, all of the homes in Dredgetown are individualized and open for players to move in. Some are even themed! For example, you'll find fugitive hideouts, engineering hovels, a butcher, and a slum hospital.

What else can you do? Well, for all my assassins, scoundrels, and other runners-from-the-Law, do you know what makes running from your enemies even better? Running on rooftops! That's why each row of one-story houses is accessible so that you may roof-run to your heart's content.

Note, too, the back-alley rows of tents. This is the Scrapyard*.

In general, I have hidden custom seating in barrels, countertops, planks, etc. Please try them out!

* There is an important note we would like to make regarding RATCHET-ON-THE-ROCKS GUARDS. They operate 'as normal' within the well-to-do 'Uptown' (Read: Don't do anything stupid in front of the guards :P). However, things are different in Gangplank, Dredgetown Housing District and Scrapyard. You will notice that the guards are either scarce or nonexistent in certain parts of these areas. The guards will not investigate or respond to crimes commited in the Gangplank, Dredgetown Housing District, or the Scrapyard (the tent area) unless the crime is done in front of them.

There are no guards in the Scrapyard. Ever. They don't go there.

To recap:

Spoiler:

Here are the named areas:
- The Triangle Club (The nightclub and casino)
- Gangplank (Black Market within the Tourist Sector -- found in the underbelly of the Zeppelin Rig)
- The Empty Barrel (the tavern in Dredgetown)
- Dredgetown ('Downtown' RotR. The Slums. Industrial sector). Also: Dredgetown Housing District
- Uptown/Tourist Trap (The 'nice' section of RotR)
- The Scrapyard (The back-alley tents. Rough neighborhood)
- The Bridge (connecting platforms)
- More TBA at a later date

Enough talking, Caravan, I wanna be there right now~! How do I get there? Just go to your nearest neighborhood portal, say 'hello' and head to RP LOCATIONS - PATCH NEEDED! > RP Location Selector. It'll bring you to a floating platform in Tanaris -- if you fall through (to your death) don't panic! Try again -- sometimes it just loads a half-second too late . You'll see the lovely goblin transport device and, once clicked, you'll be brought to the Bridge. Go character-left to Uptown, character-right to Dredgetown.

Just to close: A big shout-out and thanks to Rigley for both working on it and for letting me help. I'm glad it's finally launchin' 'cause I've been chomping at the bit to get in on the RP opportunities here. We'll be fine-tuning it in the weeks to come, but until then: Get outta OOC and come on in to Ratchet-on-the-Rocks! Especially you, Rensin.

Solace is a small extension of Dalaran, nestled in the foothills of the Storm Peaks, leading in from Crystalsong Forest. Following the fall of the Lich King and the occurrences in Ulduar and elsewhere about the northern continent, the town was established as a growth out from the comparably restrained Dalarani capitol. Placed neither for military strategy nor with any immense wealth of natural resources, the township is meant to be an extension wholly for denizens and patrons of the city-state of mages. Its focus is dedicated wholly to community and the extension of the Dalaran academy placed amongst the town.

Sunk into a valley the town is well protected from attack, doubly so with the garrison in place within it. -Multiple housings of various sizes; many small farmhouses, a handful of two-story estates, and three manors.
-An exterior region of Northrend-styled human buildings, including a meeting hall.
-A town hall, a barracks, two mage towers and an inn.
-Tents for those with less needs, including a larger one and a trapper's tower in the 'wilderness' areas.
-Two areas of forest.
This was the best skybox we could find to try and give a shaded look to the region without graphical errors that were overly distracting, so bear with us!

Sun’s Ascent

During a time that seems like so long ago, the elves and the humans had a relatively peaceful relationship. They were mostly free to wander each other’s lands, provided they followed the laws set up by the respective owners of the land. It was during this time of peace that Sun’s Ascent was founded and built by the high elves.

A band of Farstriders had been moving though the area due to a complaint they had received about trolls in the area. Searching turned up almost nothing until the moon was high in the sky. They managed to find high ground and had intended to set up camp, but were ambushed by a larger group of trolls than expected.

Both groups fought each other with as much as they could, and for a while it seemed as if the elves would lose. Luck would have it that they were on the higher grounds and they managed to keep the ground by raining arrows down at the climbing trolls. By the time the sun reached over the horizon, the high elves were able to claim total victory.

In honor of the fallen, and finding the land to be a rather good point to have an advantage, the elves decided to erect a city in the area. Remembering the cheers of his men at the rising of the sun, the leader of the group called the would-be city Sun’s Ascent. Construction underwent almost immediately once the reports made it back to Silvermoon.

At first, it was only to be a small outpost for the Farstriders, but the builders and higher ups soon realized that much more could be made of the area. Expansion came quickly and the outpost grew into a decent sized village.

Sun’s Ascent never saw too many happenings due to its location in Northern Lordaeron. A small Alliance town was built in a valley nearby in order to spread the word of the Light to them, but that never lead to much conflict as both races tolerated each other’s presence.

Sadly, the elven village was no match for the might of the Scourge. Many fled to the human village in order to hide behind the paladins that the town lodged. The populace remained there until Lastwatch was unable to hold all of the people. They fled with the humans once they were able too, the city abandoned in a panic.

Years later, the survivors of the war, now known as blood elves, lead others to reclaim and repair the village. Some wretched and lingering undead were easily disposed of and the workers spent day and night reviving the once thriving city. A small shrine was built during this time as well as an area for Light worship over a pond.

The land is not as green as it once was and the elves are slowly bringing life back into the plants. Trees have sprouted and grass is growing once more. The only thing disturbing the peace is the proximity of the city that now houses enemies.

The city has now been deemed safe enough to be lived in once again.

A mage tower, holding within it a massive library of knowledge.

There's no clear consensus on how the Catacombs came to be. Some have suggested that it began as a bandit camp, a place carved out by rogues and vagabonds for their personal use. Others say it was a powerful Necromancer's keep, a cave sculpted into a palace by a thousand undead drudges.

No one really felt a need to catalogue the history of a hole in the ground. It existed and, for most of its denizens, that was enough.

However it began the Catacombs now stands as a place for the marginalized and shunned to congregate and live in moderate peace. It has gained a sort of name for itself as a place where warlocks, cultists and extremists live side-by-side (And with a minimum of bloodshed) with rogues, assassins and Old Horde adherents.

What fragile peace it holds, however, was earned by its relative anonimity. Though it is well known in the appropriate circles the Catacombs has done little to draw the attention of those who would do it harm. Whether that will last, however, is something to see.
Necromancers, Warlocks, Assassins and others of the Neutral and Evil alignment called this place home. It generated role-play and, despite its flaws, was good. When the restart rolled around, however, the Catacombs and its sister settlement were wiped clean.

The new Catacombs is a scaled down version of the origional. Only the entrance chamber, Tomb of the Unrepentant and the Crypt Chambers have been furnished for role-playing.

The new Catacombs has also taken a turn away from overtly evil furnishings. While the usual Necromancy and Warlockry rooms have been retained new rooms for rogues, warriors and priests of different persuasions have also been added. This has been done to create an environment for purely villaouns characters alongside amoral and lawless characters.

The settlement is lawful and, as with most places, will not tolerate murder or violence. However, unlike most settlements, assassins, prisoners and Fel/Shadow users are accepted.

While it is unlikely for them to actually role-play in the Catacombs, Holy Priests and Paladins are also allowed within.
The role-play location is neutral to both Horde and Alliance players and can be found on the OOC Portal under RP Locations.
