Welcome to the Earthworks inventory thread!

This is where we will keep track of all the Earthworks' possessions. There are three sections right now:
  • Resources (with subsections Materials and Components) for stuff your characters can use to make other stuff
  • Items for any unique possessions the guild might acquire
  • Assets for buildings and the (mostly) stationary equipment that can be found inside or around them, neatly nested under their building entry
As a rule, all members of the Earthworks have access to everything in this inventory. Resources are a bit of an exception, in a way -- your characters may still use them for crafting purposes, but they must speak with and obtain permission from Zeth'ugram (Maulbane!) or Krinag (me!) first.

However, before you can take, you need to make sure the guild has something to give! There are three ways resources and items can be acquired.
  • Donations are crucial. Most of what the Earthworks has comes from its members -- your characters are a varied group of people with many talents, and they are expected to use these skills to aid the guild. You can either RP these out or do them off-screen (if you prefer the latter, contact me).
  • Events will often come with rewards, either in the form of unique items, minor assets, or resources. Make the most of the Assignments and Opportunities that are made available!
  • Shipments from Ashenvale and Azshara bring lumber and iron to the Earthworks every once in a while -- small amounts of these materials are regularly added to the guild's supplies regardless of your characters' actions, at least for now.
As more resources and items are acquired through RP, they will be added to the inventory. We plan to update this thread once a week with short lists of the changes, though there may and probably will be exceptions.

We hope that this will give people more of a sense of progression and tangible rewards for their efforts and encourage you guys to stay active. ;)

Materials

LUMBER
The Earthworks' primary source of lumber is the logging camp Lak'tuk. Although there have been issues with the loggers in the past and a trip revealed that there is something odd going on in the camp, lumber is still trickling in in a steady stream of shipments from Ashenvale. More than half of the supplies were stolen during Zeth'ugram's absence.

IRON
Most of the Earthworks' iron comes from the Mountainfoot Strip Mine in Azshara, a dreadful place run by dreadful goblins. Goblins can be feisty, and there have been issues with delayed shipments in the past, but that is no longer the case. Much of the iron in the Earthworks' possession was stolen over the past few months.

It is a rather shabby looking necklace -- an old, tough rope with many dark copper-coloured iron blocks threaded onto it, with knots between each one. Thought to be an artefact from the Third War, it was retrieved together with an old pot from the Razorwind Canyons -- not without a scuffle with the harpies -- by Surthak Flameblade, Torok Whiteclaw, and Takoda Skychaser.
A simple, nondescript clay pot. Thought to be an artefact from the Third War, it was found together with an old chain in the Razorwind Canyons. The harpies didn't exactly seem willing to let it go, but the Earthworks group handled the situation.

CREEPY DOLL

GIANT MURLOC EYE
A tough leather doll with a ridiculously large head. There's a big grin drawn where its face should be, but no other features. Apparently used to summon a minor loa, it was found by Jwam'be in an abandoned house in the Valley of Spirits when he went there to investigate a spiritual disturbance.
A trophy from a fight with murlocs on a ship in Bogpaddle, this huge eye was given to the guild by Tomakra Boneblade.

After heaps of problems with resources and weeks of hard work, the Earthworks Hall has finally been completed and opened to the public in a special ceremony.

WELL
A foot-powered whetstone currently kept in the Earthworks Hall. It was given to the Earthworks by Naros' Armory as payment for Takoda Skychaser's help in fixing their grindstone.

A large cart with heavy iron axles, capable of carrying weeks worth of preserved food along with other critical provisions. Its axles were shattered during the Cataclysm, but now it is ready to use once again -- Tomakra Boneblade and Harnod have successfully restored it to its previous condition. The cart can currently be found near the Earthworks Hall.

Zeth'ugram and other council members will periodically set tasks for guild members. These will usually be individual, but as the guild grows they will likely involve groups of 2-3 and more. More often than not, they will pertain to their particular abilities and will encourage character development. Unlike the other missions, these will likely involve tangible rewards (both for the guild and the players involved!).

Unlike assignments, these events will be smaller, more free-form and often rewardless. Intended to be ICly 'stumbled upon', they will be open to the player who picks them up first, and will have a heavier focus on surprise and an outcome the player can deliberately shift around. A more simple example would be coming across a wounded hunter in Durotar while traveling.

As you traverse Zeth'ugram's small valley, on some kind of business, you hear the sound of high-pitched crying - no doubt a child.
'A broken cart'
Walking down to enjoy the expansive wharf, you notice a cart coming from a trading ship has snapped its chassis, and something's leaking out!
'A fight'
Perhaps you could overhear what seems to be two booming, discordant voices coming from the Valley of Spirits. Wonder what it is?
[Lectures]
Twice a week, Zeth'ugram will open up the Earthworks to Orgrimmar - letting guild members speak about a particular subject in the hope of spreading knowledge. All members of the Horde may come to listen and ask questions ICly, but only Earthworks members themselves may do the lecturing. If a session is unclaimed by a player, it will default to Zeth'ugram or another council member. Lectures can be as long or short as the character wants them to be!

‘The Horde is in a crisis of wisdom. Our young look up to warlords as our crops fail, our weapons break and we cower from the elements. There are minds that have the potential for greatness, and I intend to find them and temper them.’

‣ As The Earthworks are still being repaired following the Cataclysm, Zeth'ugram has substituted his home, and it will function as the headquarters until the repairs are finished. (OOCly in the Valley of Strength, ICly within an unnamed valley of Orgrimmar)
‣ Any core member of the Horde - Orcs, Trolls and Tauren - who either has a useful skill or wishes to develop one is invited to the Earthworks.
              ‣ Those of more unpopular/reviled stations, such as mages, warlocks and death knights, are still accepted conditionally.
‣ Blood Elves, Bilgewater Goblins and Forsaken, while not explicitly barred, will be stringently tested for loyalty before being considered.
‣ All members will be expected to be active in one of three ways:
              ‣ Helping the Horde directly through assignments tailored to their skills.
              ‣ Running lessons and supporting other members of the Earthworks/Horde.
              ‣ Providing equipment for the group.
‣ Unexplained absences longer than a week will result in varying degrees of punishment, depending on Zeth'ugram's mood.

‣ The Earthworks exists independently of clan and racial lines - while no specific culture will be forced on its members, Zeth'ugram and the council have the final say in the direction of the group and the duties of its members.
‣ While arguing is healthy, brawling will not be tolerated.
‣ While some may gain respect, all members of the Earthworks, excluding the council of elders, are equal and shall not impose their will on others.

‣ As The Earthworks are still being repaired following the Cataclysm, Zeth'ugram has substituted his home, and it will function as the headquarters until the repairs are finished. (OOCly in the Valley of Strength, ICly within an unnamed valley of Orgrimmar)
