I think the following is fair to say: A pregnant woman struck doesn't mean an instant miscarriage, don't treat as such.

A pregnant woman struck CAN quite mean a miscarriage, with the chances increasing with each element of physical distress: act like a mother-to-be aware of this fact when deciding whether or not you're heading into the fray.

What he said.

In response to Bovel's elaboration on violence, I'm only touching on common misconceptions often used for easy drama. I won't get into every scenario as, well--that's awful and no one wants to read that. I added a note about extremes of violence. Extremes, not a sock to the gut, or falling down stairs.

I still feel like too much centering is being used on the text and it sorta throws it 'off' for me. Though that's more of a personal preference of mine than anything else.

Other than that, I really have no other feedback beyond it looks pretty awesome so far, I learned a few things from it myself. I wish I had more to add to it beyond that, but sadly what I know about pregnancy is rather limited, due to never being pregnant myself. I look forward for when the whole thing is complete!

The only thing I could think to add is also more of a personal preference, the whole 'speedy pregnancy' thing. It gets a bit confusing when, for example, I RP out the full nine months but others who get pregnant after my character have their children way before mine as well. It gets rather boggling and messes with my own little sense of time. I'd make note that if you're going to do it, do it for the full nine months. With a guide now it might be a bit more 'fun' - much as I hate to use that word for it - to RP out the progress than just sorta jumping though it.

<3 the guide.

Yeah, I'm not sure how to comment on speedy-preggers other than tell people "Hey. Other people RP in the same world as you. Gestational differences don't span extremes in the same race. Be mindful of time for others!"

Or something.

And, I swear I cut down on the centering.

My issue with speedy pregnancies is that they usually are unrealistic in my eyes - generally, I find that they disrespect the overall flow of the world. If we could treat them all as such, then any kids our characters have could easily grow up speedily as well, and become Player Characters real quick, though! I mean, if nine months could be sped up to a few days, then a couple of months or half a year could have a fully-grown adult. So, that might be nice.

Also, contraception's over four thousand years old. It predates Ancient Egypt. In fact, certain plant-types had been collected to extinction by the time the Roman Empire had grown into full bloom, for their contraceptive powers. There's a reason 's the oldest job in the world.

Either way, this guide is full of win and babymaking. It should totally end up in the Articles & Guides section for great usefulness.

I should help you round this out, C0rzilla. Now that I have seen both sides of pregnancy (easy-mode and hard-mode).

Edit: Not that this isn't a good, rounded out guide already. I think that came out different than I actually wanted it to. I just mean, I could give some more insight!

Don't know whether I should be worried about the fact that I knew most of this already. Oh, well. Good guide!
