Homecoming
#1
The morning was quiet, easily moving along in the Wintersun manor. It wasn't the most impressive of holdings but it did serve its purpose all the same. Selphius had settled in nicely, taking up the master quarters and assuming control of the estate with little red tape to cause issue. Currently he was amidst a proposal for the Wintersun House to share its stores of salvaged records from before the Fall. Most of it was rubbish, but the interested parties didn't know that, so why should he share when they thought it could trace them back to proper noble status?

Across the lawn, a very different scene was playing out. A corpse was sauntering across the grass, alone and dressed in the simple clothing of commoners, one Velial Wintersun was making her way across the lawn. She looked worse for the wear, but “not dead” was still a significant step up from “utterly deceased”. Her nose had recently been broken, and signs of mending were still in place. Aside from that it was a myriad of cuts, scratches, bruises and all manner of mark that for one reason or another hadn't yet been healed.

Still, she walked across the lawn with a demeanor contrary to her usual dreamy, illucid sort. She strode forward with purpose, and eyes alight with a fury (perhaps not unknown to Silvermoon) quite unknown to the Wintersun holdings. The door wasn't opened so much as thrust forward hanging on to its hinges for dear life.

“Selphius Wintersun! I charge you with attempted assassination for personal gain, extortion and treason against the Wintersun House and all of Quel'thalas! I make these claims with all in earshot as witness and challenge you to trial by combat in a duel of honor!”

Today would be interesting, it seemed...
As someone wise once said, the important thing is never to be fearless or confident. Most people have more than enough trouble with both. The trick is to fake it, because if you learn to fake it properly, it's the same thing as actually having confidence.
