I was looking at some Night Elf lore and happened to come across some information about Cenarius. It said that Malfurion had been shown by Krasus there was a relationship between Cenarius and Ysera. It also says that Malfurion thought them lovers at first but was then shown Ysera was infact Cenarius' mother. So, do you think Ysera has taken the form of Elune to "manifest" herself to the Night Elves. I read this on
http://www.blizzplanet.com/blog/comments/cenarius/ and it says the information was taken from War of the Ancients: The Sundering.

If this is true, is the Night Elven population aware of this information?

Here's the relationships.

Cenarius is the son of Elune.
Cenarius is the student of Ysera.
Ysera is the mentor of Cenarius.
Elune is the mother of Cenarius.

Officially, that's as close as Elune and Ysera can get to being related.
Quote:To the druids she is known as the "mother" of Cenarius, but since he is not a dragon, this is not literal.
Ah, thanks. Was just slightly confused.
I believe that Ysera is the foster mother of Cenarius, however perhaps this is possible... after all, Ysera did go in a rage over the death of Malorne, perhaps they had an relationship?
I was told by a friend just now that Ysera was fond of Malorne and Cenarius and treated him as her son.
yeah but if I recall correctly Malorne protected Cenarius in the war of the ancients as a father would protect it's child and died doing so, Ysera went into a berserk after seeing that.

I think Malfurion even said that, thus I actually have always thought that Cenarius was a child of Malorne and Ysera and Cenarius link with nature and Elune could be explained trough his father Malorne and his ability to enter the Emerald dream could be explained trough his mother Ysera.

I could totally be missing the point but it's my thought on the matter

You recall quite correctly, but Ysera was never the mother of Cenarius, Elune was. Malorne struck a deal with Elune to love her in return that she would save him from the Tauren's hunt. There are still discussions regarding the hunt on Malorne, knowing Tauren nature and the way they treat demigods have never been hostile. However, the deal was real, and in the end Cenarius was born through that relationship.

Why Ysera was so struck as she was back with the fall of Cenarius is because he was her first and only student, and thus had developed a bond with him, which is quite naturally.

EDIT:
It seems Malorne also had a relationship with Ysera when Cenarius was born.
So basicly you could deduct from what you are saying that Ysera was kind of the foster mother of Cenarius instead of Elune which as far as I know does not have a physical manifestation but rather uses Aviana as sme sort of prophet.
Could it be possible that Malorne's real love was for Ysera? They could have grown a very strong bond..

Yes, that is indeed right. Elune could not care for Cenarius when she gave birth to him because of his more mortal-like body, and gave him to Malorne who had a physical body on Azeroth. There, Malorne brought him to Ysera, who he also had a relationship with, and taught him the secrets of the Dream of Creation and cared for him like a mother would a son.

I think this is indeed true, knowing they already had a relationship with each other before the deal with Elune.
