Meh, I've always sort of been against it. I believe you guys should have to work for the prestige class, so their not thrown away. I mean, with the lack of people doing them right now, I tend to think that if we remove the restrictions we'll get a flood of profiles that aren't up to par, and end up being a character that's thrown away after a while.

Otherwise, I believe people would be currently working towards it to get what they want, heh.

Plus, to me, it sort of nerfs the people that -have- worked for 'em.

Just my opinion though, I'm pretty flexable with whatever happens, but I also wanted to present my side of this.
I've read over a few of the reply's and thought over a few suggestions, reading the initial post I think that the old policy for creating a DK could be merged with the already standing prestige process. First off on creating a prestige from a fresh character, what about the player would write a profile out the standard way and send it to a GM first, but instead of having just the normal character sheet template merge that with the example Nostra give in the first post. Then the usual process's of approval would come into play, with everybody chipping in their thoughts and so fourth.

For an already existent character to become a prestige I'd have to lean more with the prestige creation rules that we have already in place.
I'd like to know where the GMs are with this issue. Has anything been decided yet, reform or otherwise? I'd like to have Zjiin work toward the Spirit Champion title, and wondered if two people could work on the same prestige title together in the same thread. With this talk of reform, I wasn't sure what methods were required to start one up.

Should I go ahead and assume that I need to fill out a Prestige Title Template, regardless of any reform?
I was just wondering this same thing earlier today in school, but I couldn't get on the double-u double-u double-u dot to ask D:

I'd really just like to know where this is at for the sake of knowing, since it's a very substantial change in the workings/goings on of the server.
Right now, it seems like it's up in the air. We honestly... haven't been discussing it that much lately, heh. We understand a lot of people like the idea, but we also like to roll out the hidden cons of this, one of the major factors being that it -is- really easy to get a prestige class... something almost noone tries for now-a-days.

We love to see people write. That's what this community was developed for. But, it feels like we've seen so little effort in this area.

It's sort of like this. Everyone would love it if cable was free. But without monetary support, the quality of cable would dwindle.

Now, in this case, cable is the prestige class, money are nicely done posts, and quality is still quality.
I never try to get prestiges, 'cause I don't see them... Needed. If they'd help somehow, people might try to achieve them, eyh? Like, give random special abilities.
As I recall prestige classes -do- infact give special abilities in RP...and I think they should also get atleast one more point of HP and some roll bonuses.

Anyway...getting a prestige title isn't -that- challenging, it just takes patience, time and a lot of dedication of writing. Rome wasn't built in a day.
Ummm - can we get a final ruling on this?

Since people have started up uber prestige storylines und stuff?

Danke.

(Sorry if I'm confused and it's actually been finalized)
The requirement to make a storyline wouldn't change even if we end up making the changes, so I don't think it matters for those who've been approved.

I'll see to push this topic when I get back, which should be in about a few days, some time during the weekend.
Also, guys. Don't count your chickens before they hatch. That's usually why we keep stuff private---because we don't know if we are gonna do it or not.

And yeah, you get some abilities, but it's defined by roleplay, not a spell that you can flash around OOCly in Warsong. We've tried that before, with horrible results.

And while I agree, the writing will stay in place, what I'm sayin' is that the initial form isn't -that- hard to fill out, heh. And yes, I've done it. It takes all of... a few minutes of good thoughts?
