People of the server, rejoice!

No longer will you be restricted to your Goblin owned port cities, no longer will you question why the RP is so shambled!

The Azshara Crater has returned!

For those of you who don't know, the Azshara Crater was home to the Drudean Tavern, a very local hotspot from pre-WOTLK reset. Veterans of the server will know what I speak of, and new players will soon know as well. However, although all players are welcome, adjustments to the Crater are still being made after reviving it from it's vegetative post-restart state. Expect a few glitches, bugs and other nonsense that we urge you all to report to one of us ASAP, preferably Kretol or myself.

The Azshara Crater is a long forgotten ruins of Kaldorei/Highborne origin. Here and there, one can glimpse the glory which was the former Kaldorei nation; crumbling ruins, moonlit temples, and dragons carved in stone rearing to the sky. The climate here is in a perpetual fall, for the forest is old and no longer tended by the druids of ages past. It is a localized, de-instanced area in which it is thoroughly cut off from the rest of the world. A literal crater, the only exit is by portal back to Warsong Gulch. However, this does not mean it's a small little camp, as the crater spans through ruins, forests and two faction camps, nearing the size of Elwynn and Duskwood combined.

The Crater can be reached by a portal in Warsong Gulch!

Here, Chieftain Kretol Earthshaker has managed to carve out and secure a stronghold in the Crater for his clan - a fortress keep where elementals wander, and travelers from Azeroth and Outlands come to discuss the concerns of the world. And of late, there seems to be many rumors stirring of ancient evils choosing their time to strike after the Plague has left the world's population greatly depleted.

Having fought back from long ago their stake in the crater, the Leafwind Sisterhood has taken up residence on the polar ends of the crater from the Earthshaker Clan. Led by Masimavri Leafwind, the female-only brigade of fighters enjoy their leisurely home in the woods, using profits from the Tavern to fund their living, and desperate attempts to try and re-vitalize the forest that was once long ruined.

Furbolgs have now taken residence in the Crater, mostly comprised of the only two clans which have not succumbed to corruption; the Timbermaw and the Stillpine. More and more of the Furbolgs are making their way to the Crater and trying to settle as best as they can, though of course they long to be back in their homelands once more.

Indeed, the Crater is now becoming a rather busy place, and in the old Kaldorei ruins, ancient powers are stirring. The Ancient of Spirits has awakened, and with its return to sentience, it has brought forth the spirits of Bear, Cat, Wolf, Crow and Treant which now patrol and guard the moonwell. What this portends has yet to be seen.

The tavern located within the Crater is a restaurant run by sisters of the Leafwind Sisterhood. With the location and initial supplies sponsored by the Earthshakers, the tavern has become a rather popular hangout for those seeking a drink or conversation for those of Horde and Alliance affiliation alike. The location of the tavern is above the gateway leading from the Night Elf settlement into the ruins in Azshara Crater. After teleporting in from Warsong Gulch, simply follow the road and take a left where it forks. When you reach the gate and the Orc Watch Tower, you are there!

Give a big thanks to Kretol, who I couldn't have recreated this area without!
Edited slightly!
This certainly seems like a reason to rejoice for me! More fun places to ignore EXPLORE.

Thanks for all the work put in to give us a new area!
And so...it returns. YAY!! Thanks guys, I used to check the place out and be all down and stuff that it wasn't awesome anymores.

LUFF <3 (l) and any other variety of general love I can dredge up.
Curious. Why would a character want to ICly be there?
- The two added night elven buildings in the north got the earth sticking out through the floor.
- There is a stone beneath the broken dragon that is glitched and can be seen through.
- The titan wall pieces used to cut off the crater at the dragons make you fall through the world, if you get too close to them.
- The nelf butcher Jaena in the tavern seem to glitch, either sinking a feet through the floor or "stagger" on off the building.

I TOTALLY LOVE THIS PLACE!
Azshara is my favourite enviroment in Wow, and this place just adds to that.
Well, here's a few of my ideas to ICly go.

A) Treasure Hunter. (They have ruins. Indiana Jones, anyone?)
B) I want to support side "x". (You want to go help your faction there, or something.)
C) Simple exploration.
D) All of the above.

Take your pick?
Xigo Wrote:Curious. Why would a character want to ICly be there?

That's up to you, no? :>
Or, if your character sells anythin, it would be illogical not to go where there's a large gathering of people, don't you agree? :D
D'aww! Goood memmorrriesss!
Try flying around Azshara for about 5 minutes, Cressy. You'll get a FLOOD of memories coming back. I had at least 10 rush back to me when I was exploring it.
Reminds me of when I first saw and joined COTH years ago, I phailed hard and left after my character died, after some urging from an IRL friend I returned from Retail, and now here I am... Crater rocks, yar.
This looks... interesting!

\o/
This is great! I first came to CotH like... Right after the restart, and all this stuff was still on the Wiki. I was so disappointed when none of it was actually there. And now it's finally back after a year and a half! Huzzah! Time for epic RP!

...Also, the custom Night Elf group, Leafwind Sisterhood, is apparently named after my second character on CotH. Aleina Leafwind. XD
And suddenly? I'm filled with nostalgia of my first day.

'Hat buk' still makes me smile. For those that remember.
