Conquest of the Horde

So what should you do if you lack the proper hard drive space to create a second World of Warcraft folder?

Well you have two options:

1. Patch up to 3.3.5 or
   
2. Wait until a final decision has been made

If you have a PC, this decision is fortunately much easier. We are capable of down patching our versions of the game, which mean that even if Kretol decided not to utilize 3.3.5 on Conquest of the Horde within the next couple of days we could go back to the prior version with minimal effort. Unfortunately, I've heard that Macs are unable to be down patched.

This is the optimal solution if you use a US copy of the game. EU players haven't had 3.3.5 released yet, though it appears that there is a way of utilizing the US patch to upgrade their games. I personally would be a little wary of pursuing that if you can't get a second copy of the game on your computer, but that's my gut feeling.

I clicked copy paste and it said it was copying 18.6G of data and would take 7+ hours....i haven't hte patience for that i'm afraid...o.o how does one downpatch? or am I not supposed to copy the WHOLE folder?

You don't need the whole folder. I tend to ignore the Errors, the Logs, Updates, and the Screenshots folders. Those are ones that aren't needed for the game to run and so you'd be copying them unnecessarily (particularly past updates screenshots, which can both be pretty big). You can also remove many of the addons if you don't use them on the private server; I get rid of things like DBM and Recount since I don't need them on Conquest of the Horde.

Best time to copy your folder is overnight, since it'll do all of the work for you while you're snug in your bed.

I was all very excited to start playing tonight, and then I found that I can't even get hold of 3.3.5 until next week?! Urgh, oh well. Gives me more time to think about a cool character.

How's the testing going? Good or bad?

(I am stuck here on 3.3.3 for the time being since my brother does not want me upgrading his Wow for now.)

Oh forget it... I was hoping for some RP tonight but, guess not.

Yeah the server has been down for a good 20 minutes or so.

I'm not a computer geek or anything, so if anyone has a solution that 100% works, and I don't have to download the whole US version, please send me a PM how I do it exactly, with screenshots if possible.

Plus if you download updates manually and forget to delete them, then for god sake, don't try to copy them over too like I did(extra about 5gb...)
