Do you not own physical copies of the dvds?
Sounds like when I was installing the wrong version of WoW.
I can't get my disks because they are in storage, but I am actually downloading World of Warcraft from their website via my retail account. No idea why it is still doing it.
It may be just a problem with your internet on why they won't download. It seems you've been having problems with it the past few days. ):
When a game doesn't work for me (gotta love Windows), I try another few games. If those games work fine, I restart my PC. If after the restart it still doesn't work, I try reducing all the graphics settings etc and trying again. If it still doesn't work, check for the latest video card driver/sound card driver and consider if you've made any changes since the game last worked. If you have made changes, then obviously un-do those changes.

If after all that it still doesn't work, try it on another PC (if you can), and if it works on that PC then there's something up with yours. With an online game, I'd also try resetting your router and test out your download speed on Speedtest. Then I'd try re-installing the game, making sure you delete every trace of the game from your hard-drive (delete the entire WoW folder which is usually in Program Files and also delete any files that are saved in My Documents, though I don't think WoW saves anything to there) after you first un-install.

If after everything above it still doesn't work, then a system restore is probably necessary. And after that, a complete wipe and format of your hard-drive. And if after everything it doesn't work, then your pc is b0rked.

Oh yeah, disclaimer: don't do any of the above if you don't want to risk destroying your PC. The above is just a list of things I tend to do before eating my own hands with frustration.

Quote:i got it to work for me!

my computer was freezing after i hit login (actually i ended up waiting and after about 4minutes, it would start working), and it turns out, it was a "firewall" program of mine. Its a behavioral packet monitoring program called Threatfire, all i had to do was set it to "suspend" (right click icon in system tray and click Suspend) and it would no longer freeze after i logged in. I havent tried setting it active while i play, i just leave it suspended until im finished playing. Hope this helps

Not sure but I hope this help you.
