I think we should definately be before his death. Most people voted for afterwards, but think: Can't you still do all of the ideas you have after we kill Arthas in the actual server? I say we go before his death so that we can add that in as an extra event. So we can have an event about killing him AND a big party event. :D The more events the better, right?
I would say after Litch King, so we can have many smaller storylines and not have to rope everyone into the one storyline.

Everyone will be involved in the storyline of Arthas's death either way because either way, he died. The only people who would need to actually be in Northrend to fight him would be characters who are soldiers, mercenaries, and the like, if that's what you're worried about. I would just find it really enjoyable to have my first approved character as one of the ones who took down Arthas. :)
Oh, a request that Malth personally kicked Arthas in the crotch after he died in Icecrown Citadel.

That's my afterparty!

lol!!!

This. In my entire time on CotH I have seen very little conflict between factions. Only time was during the Arathi battles with the tri-faction fighting. I much prefer Horde and Alliance fighting instead of being best buds all the time.

Plus, pre-LK death would just be the same stuff we've been doing and having an event to kill Arthas would just be pointless.
A big bloody party in Dalaran. One for Horde and one for Alliance(just like the city is divided) And then when ppl get drunk, fights start occuring and before we know it... were right back in to the horde vs alliance.

= Profit.

And Tharnul would be there yes. Shivering in a corner tapping his heels together, mumbling "Theres no place like home. Theres no place like home. Theres no place like home."
I vote pre-death of lich king. Personally I never cared to much for alliance versus horde events because of the ooc drama that comes with them. At the end of the day it turns into just a bunch of dice rolls and crying. Different rp styles clash and unless done really well it turns into a huge mess. Npc's don't complain and from my time Gm'ing, players complain less when they lose to npcs. With lich king around it gives people the option to not get involved in alliance versus horde stuff but he doesn't have to be around for that. Theres plenty of smaller enemies around. None the less, I vote that he is still alive.
If we were to do the assault on icecrown, that's the part players would be able to participate in. Perhaps fighting some of the other raid bosses. It'd practically be a distraction to get Tirion and Darion to the Frozen Throne. I don't think we've ever had any intention of letting players join in killing Arthas, as they'd die in one hit. Just like Saurfang.
That would be good lore-wise
Possibly help Jaina and Sylvanas in as well?

I definately agree.

Also. Maybe a GM could spawn a non-hostile Arthas and .npc possess it and then have a giant RP battle against Arthas like that? That would be cool I think.
I think the restart should be post-death. Arthas is such a huge figure that if we were to place our own characters in the positions of the ones that slay him it would affect our characters very greatly and put us next to the bigwigs of Warcraft lore.
I vote for the lich king being already dead.

Why?

Because then we can go for a some alliance versus horde rampage, no?
I'm more a fan of neutrality. If I wanted Horde vs Alliance I would do a PvP server. :/
Just because the LK would possibly be dead doesn't mean we couldn't make up villains of our own, or go back to things blizz left hanging. Arthas isn't the only thing that could rally cross-faction rp.
