Page II: War
My best is fighting boy, so I suppose it's worth starting there. I took up an axe when I could first walk. War was brewing up through the Dark Portal, so that's where I was bound.
You see plenty of things in war. Death, destruction, the blaze of a sacked village; Any real warrior will tell you though that it's the rush of charging into battle that stays with you. A pinkskin can't hold up to a lone orc, let alone an army of them, but with their archers, knights and magicians the fight for survival pushes you on. War is about survival, and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. Without it the Horde would still be stuck in the camps, fighting for the pinkskins.
Speaking of race, let's hit on that for a moment. You hear a lot of talk these days about the people we in the Horde are putting ourselves with. Trolls are a quirky bit, but trusty. Tauren are a bit too passive for my ways, but mighty. Then you have the big one; Elves and the rotters.
I'm not really that fond of elves. It's in my name, after all. So when we heard there were long ears being shipped up to the fight in the outlands and later, Northrend, I wasn't very pleased. I'll give you a story, since I suppose every child deserves a war tale from their father.
It was Northrend when they told us we had to take some in our unit. We took some of the spell throwers, since we as a warrior heavy group didn't have much in terms of healing and range. We had one in particular that worked with us for a time. She was particularly quiet, and not much for making herself known. She was good with healing, though, so she was worth the extra supplies to cart around.
We lost her on the push into the Dragonblight. We were working fine up until the scourge brought out their hulks- Meat wagons, abominations, the like. We were all split up, rushing back to our defenses. From what I can tell she was helping out one of the other units, keeping watch on some of the injured.
Turns out the scourge pushed us back a good deal in that push- Past where the elf and the rest of the unit was, at least. Of course, once we got to them, they were all gone- Scourge made short work of them. Turns out, though, that she had gone out fighting, by the looks of it, while the soldiers lied with their injuries.
Doesn't matter what you are and what you fight. Your only part of the Horde if your willing to give your all for it.
Guess you should know.
