Just had a little Idea. As Stealth is agreed to be not IC, would it be possible to remove the visual transparency effect, and the effect that makes them invisible when behind another player from a rogue's sneak ability. It would still work on mob's, but it could also be used in character for literal sneaking rather than a weird form of invisibility.
The problem is, if it still worked on mobs, it would still work OOCly and you'd still be invisible to other players...unless you were to be in a party.
Make an item that can initiate a stealth-like animation. Simple.
Well, I only mean, Change the visuals and the effect will still work on NPC mobs, for levelling and such, but it would still look like you can be seen to other characters if you sneak.
Or, yeah,What bounty said. If that were possible it would be amazing.
Well, there's more to consider.

We do want a game that, as closely as possible, mimics the feel of retail while retaining the roleplaying nirvana that we want. One of the benefits from switching to Trinity Core was that abilities worked properly, potentially allowing for people to pursue their interests in raiding and PvP. If we remove the technical aspect of the ability from the game (ie, OOC invisibility), we're hamstringing rogues who may want to explore that feature.

I think that just recognizing that stealth doesn't grant invisibility should be enough.
If you really want to use the effect to "enhance your roleplay" as they say, you can simply invite those involved in your RP to your party.

*Shrug*
Just my idle fancy.
Eh, when i do that, i tend to get a huge torrent of angry "Stealth is not IC QQ!!!". Would love to be able to use the sneak animation though, as it just feels a lot more natural than just walking behind someone.
Well if you get an admin to help you, here is the spell.

Just attach it to an item for use and you should be good to go.

Also remember to limit it only to the specific classes, unless you want it for everyone. <3
Well, It wouldnt be all bad to add it to the guy who sell's the goggles in GMisland would it? I mean, any character is capable of crouching down and sneaking about, even if a rogue could do it best. Would be nice to see a few of these even, for thing's such as the death animation, all the potentially useful ones you cant do with / commands. :D
It's always nice with a few effects. =) I especially like Feign death on an item for the animation of falling or getting knocked out.. Then Freeze animation while you are down for getting dragged across the ground..

Has to many ideas.. >.> <.<... ^_^
I have considered adding certain cosmetic/visual effects to items (probably trinkets). The problem I had foreseen was that there was no way to remove the spell. HOWEVER, if it's set to cast upon equip, then unequipping the item SHOULD also remove the spell.

I'll have to make a few of these and test them.
Well there is another server whom have made these items as you can make your own items on the server.. Etc etc etc.. There the feign death is removed when the item is removed.. I can test them quickly for you if you want so you don't have to make them and delete them. ^_^

... If you want that is.
:D *hug's Kretol and Catherina!*

If only I knew anything about this stuff, id gladly help :P

As an aside, if you get told this, you can kindly tell the people to shove it. Abilities you have can be used ICly. This includes Stealth, so long as it is used responsibly (such as, ya know, not stealthing in plain sight when someone is looking directly at you.)
