I've been looking through Draenei through the wiki and I feel that, I should give it a shot. I've never played as one before so I think the experience will be fresh on my mind, and I'm thinking of leaning to becoming a shaman class.

The only problem for me is, I don't know much about Draenei other than the fact that they are basically aliens (like orcs) who have decided to side up with the Alliance to oppose the Demonic legion. Honestly, I really just wanted to try something new. I'm looking on the Wiki right now for information, but is there anything VERY important I need to know beforehand? (about being a Draenei.)

I understand alot of the Draenei statistics are cloudy at best, (Don't know age or weight! Sometimes, even how to SPELL it!) But I'm willing to try!
Basically, Draenei are uncorrupted Eredar who fled from their homeworld to escape Kil'jaeden. They were helped by the Naaru as well, which is why they revere them. I'm not exactly sure why they joined the alliance. They are for the -vast- majority very good aligned. (Frankly, I'm rather suprised they can be shadow priests at all. Kinda collides with their lore, eh?) but yeah, that is the -very- skinny of it.
As for height and weight guidelines, I'd use the tauren averages, perhaps slightly smaller, as they tend to be around that size IIRC.

Anyway, Draenei are one of the more uncertain races because they were introduced (in their current form) very recently, so they have the least amount of lore surrounding them. General guidelines:

1. Draenei are, as a whole, largely good people, but are occasionally shown with flaws. Still, the only race that can compare to them in pure shining goodness are the Tauren.

2. They are one of the races that believe in the Light. Their version is slightly different though, as they worship the Naaru directly and not second-hand.

3. They talk with mostly Russian accents, or at least eastern-European.

4. They have really big grudges against the Orcs and Blood Elves.

5. Shamanism is still a very new (and rather unnatural to them) path. They're typically magic and technology-heavy, not so much into the natural ways.

If you have a specific question, we can try to help you out with that.
Why do they hold a grudge to Orcs? I wanted my draenei to respect orcs in the way he respects shamanism. Is that possible?
The short answer is because while the orcs were demon-tainted and before they started pouring into Azeroth in Warcraft 1, they essentially nearly eradicated the Draenei race on Draenor (now Outland, the Orcish homeworld.) You'd probably hold a grudge too if some alien race tried to commit genocide on your species.

Though nearly anything is possible if RPed correctly, it's a good idea to keep in mind the history and what the character would be taught. Draenei consider Orcs to be monsters and murdering savages.
Hm I'll be thinking this over.. In the meantime I'll be looking over for information about the shaman on this server (How bugged it is, if at all - If it's worth it)

I'm probably going to end up going Draenei anyway, now I'm convinced.
Some Draenei may feel anger towards the Orcs, but some likely are merely saddened.

When the Draenei found Draenor, or Outland, they were already an old race. Comparatively, the Orcs were just children. Velen, the leader of the Draenei, watched for two-hundred years as the Orcs grew, and respected their culture, and especially the two Orcs Durotan and Orgrim.

Velen witnessed the peaceful and young Orcs destroy their lands and forsake the spirits of the ancestors, as they became imbued with the blood of a powerful Demon.

After this all, I believe he would feel deep sadness. He never hated the Orcs, they were just another collective pawn for the Legion.

Yes and no. Deep sadness is one thing, if the Orcs had just gone evil/demon-corrupted. But they didn't JUST go that, they slaughtered lots/most/majority of the Draenei race (I've heard many varying numbers and percentages, all seem to just agree that it was a LOT).

That kind of thing would/should cause more than just sadness. Anger and resentment, to many varying degrees based on the individual, would seem more likely. Mind you, I'm always for different characters and individuals, but the base Drae, I believe, would at best be resentful, highly, towards the Orcs.

From what i'v heard, The Path of Glory in Hellfire is supposed to be composed entirely of Draenei bones. Thats alot of dead Dreanei.. This is just something I heard awhile back, but if you go there and look closely at the ground you will notice the bones. An example of just how many where killed by the orcs, IF this is a fact. If im wrong then meh, ignore me.

Edit: Ah! Here's where I heard about the bones! The Path of Glory
