First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player.:
Once upon a time, an innocent young man started playing World of Warcraft for the first time. He made a tauren warrior which took him a full ten months to level up to 60. This was me.

Hello, I'm David, and I'm a roleplayer. Whatever I say here, you'll find out eventually that I'm the sort of guy who spends his time analyzing and contemplating things constantly, but does it in such a manner that it becomes more of a hobby than a distraction. That's why I like roleplaying. I'm near-obsessed with the works and functions of the human mind and roleplay is one of the best ways of both expressing this, and relieving oneself of it.

That said, I'm by no means an experienced roleplayer in terms of time; I began playing WoW in 2006 but didn't start roleplaying until August 2008. A few months after that I quit the game, then picked it up again a few months later (as people who quit WoW generally do), and started getting really into the deeper immersion of roleplay with my mind firmly set on one goal: becoming better.

So if my vaguely dysfunctional mathematical brain capacity actually serves me right, I've roleplayed something like 19 months in total. Something like that, yes. Not that it matters.

Anyway! I feel I should tell you a bit of what I'm into. I've tried everything, seriously. And by everything I mean everything between strict military "stand in line and shut up", and cliché porn-esque ERP. I've done it all.

What I found likeable is another matter.

I'm a big fan of social roleplay, and adventure. With such an interest for psychology I'm both a fan of literally action-less movies, and thought-provoking books. Social roleplay compliments this.

You wanna know what music I listen to? Well, I can't even tell you that myself. If there's one word I'd describe myself with, it's "indifferent". My tastes are broad.

And with that, I believe this part is completed.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?
I'm from Sweden, and while Swedish is my primary language, I'm by no means bound to it. I include far more English words in my Swedish vocabulary than I stumble over English words when trying to express myself. Languages have never been difficult for me, to put it short and simple.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
Friend of mine said, "Hey, check this out". I checked it out. I fell in love with it. I gave up on skateboarding, archery, drawing and hyperactive biking just to play WoW. Ironically I played Warcraft 3 -after- I played WoW.

What made you seek our server over others? (or How did you find us?):
I was directed here by a good friend of mine, basically. Thought I'd have a look.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
I enjoy social roleplay, as aforementioned. Social roleplay and, to some extent, drama. Not personal drama, however. There's nothing I loathe more than having reason to be jealous, or giving others reason to be jealous.

To put a negative twist to the matter, I'll just admit right now that military and combat roleplay are not things I just dislike; they are things I frown upon. Condescendingly. But I shan't let that get in the way of better judgement, of course!

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
Tough question.

I'll start with the OOC preference while I try to think up a good answer for IC. I've always been fond of warriors. Direct and brutal confrontation is my nature. I like it, and wouldn't have it any other way.

For roleplay, however, I really don't know. I've tried all races (I think), but I haven't really fallen for any of them. Night elves are my favourite race, but roleplay -with- other night elves can be a bit... stale.

For class I generally go with warrior. I'm a big fan of the spiritual/religious warrior-who-spews-words-of-wisdom stereotype.

What are your expectations of this server?:
I expect it to give me quality roleplay, as I provide in return. That's really the only thing I have in mind. Having been taught in a very elitist little community, my standards are high, but I have all the faith I can have in that this server will be a very pleasant experience.

For the record, I'm not the "You're doing it wrong, idiot" kind of elitist. My only aim is to make people improve. If they are unreasonable, well, tough luck, I won't be easy on them, but if they are willing to improve, I will do my very best to help them.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
I'm quite fond of the "Respect" rule. I've always frowned upon humiliating other people, being condescending without good reason, being generally nasty and such things.

On a previous private server I went with a very "everyone is equal" mindset. This didn't prove to my benefit, but it taught me a lot about principles. I'm not going to bootlick someone just because they're my superior or in a position of authority - nor will I ever treat anyone in a bad way, no matter how useless they are.

Point is, I expect the very same from my peers.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
The cloven hooves of the large herd of talbuk were thundering across the snowy plains of Nagrand this winter night. Where there only a month ago had been lush grasslands and proud trees, now there was only the chilly, dry air and the stark contrast between grey bark and crystalline snow. To any newcomer this would seem perfectly normal; a formerly lush grassland turned frosty and harsh at the quick change of seasons, but here were also other hoof-striding creatures. They knew better. The stench of man'ari was thick and suffocating in the otherwise fresh air; not the eredar themselves, but the taint of wrong and demonic energies.

While the draenic figure observed the herd of infuriated talbuk as they strode back and forth across the open scenery, snorting and stomping with their bleeding hooves, he wondered why the land was still preserved and intact. It had been more than two years since the first attacks on draenei hunting parties had begun; Azhaan had lost everything since. All he had to cling to was the assuring factor that his people yet lived and that he had been an instrumental wheel in that. One of many wheels, perhaps, all of which were as important as the other.
The sunset was distant at this hour. Darkness concealed any unwanted predators, but the draenei was well aware. A little bit too aware. His position inbetween the hills was not safe, but it was decent - the best that could be found without trouble or exhausting effort, in fact. The illusion of safety in this miniature ravine did not trick Azhaan.

With a final glance at the horned animals before they went out of sight, the dark-skinned vindicator heaved a sigh. The sigh was not one of relief, exhaustion or casual thought; it was full of sorrow, stress and unconceivable fear. The crawling noise when he crept back to the comfort of the warm light emanating from the faintly glowing, blood-red crystal was not to be heard by any foe, but Azhaan would not sleep. As a final comfort before he entered a state of meditation, Azhaan realised that the talbuk felt as he did, and he would not be reached by any stealthing hunter of the Horde unless the hunter was willing to bear the weight of two dozen furious talbuk mothers.

A sigh of relief was uttered before his eyes shut and his heartbeat calmed, watched over protectively by the lingering stars high above.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
I'd just like to apologise, -just in case- I may have offended anyone with this application. And that's pretty much it.
Thanks in advance in case I get approved.
