Depends on the ghoul really. And its equipment. :D

I think we are derailing the topic here. Point is, DKs can mass summon a small amount of ghouls with Army of dead. They are relatively weak and don't last very long, but a death knight can still do it.
Yes, they can summon a small group of ghouls. Game mechanics allows 5, and I'd say no more than that, really. Although they'd be nowhere near as powerful as a Necromancer's, considering the fact that they raise them with runic death magic and not a Necromancer's other option of raising, mainly implanting the soul back into the body.
Aaah, another question. This is semi related to the fourth question about death knights and their need to kill.

So we've established that death knights have a literal need to kill. If they tried to resist this, how long would this be possible for and would there be any repercussions?
... I'd think they would start feeling effects after a week without slaying someone or something.

Withdraws would basically be like any other drug addiction. Easier to allow yourself to kill when the chance arises, headaches, your mind only thinking about it...

I guess you could play around with it, just think as your Death Knight going without cocaine for a week after using it for years. It's going to be... Interesting.

I'd give two-three weeks max before you literally go insane and kill everything around you, regardless of who they are.
As far as I know there's little support for the death knights' hunger other than some comment made by someone in the starting zone. I'm no expert, but I'd think it's pretty much up to each player to decide how to deal with it.
If an NPC states something, it is considered confirmed by Blizzard, afaik, and should be considered canon.

The real question is, has Blizzard confirmed that what the NPC says is literal or metaphorical? I'm talking blue posts, here.
