His body burned brightly as Itheros set fire to it. He died alone in the wilderness of Stranglethorn Vale, cut down by a Death Knight. Far away, the sole remaining piece of his body rested in Baydok's possession, never put back in after it was cut out.

Months later, Oleander finally grabbed Baydok and with her help, acquired a cadre of resurrecter's, bringing them all together. It wasn't hard for her, especially after raiding the dead elf's bank account.

They gathered around in the nondescript room, eyeing the green eyeball. It wordlessly stared up at them, giving off a feeling of rage and hate. Faint stitches lined the eye, still preserved to prevent rotting. A night elven hand grabbed it and held it up as the others moved in position for the ritual. Around the night elf stood an armored blood elf, two draenei shaman, another night elven druid, and a human priestess. The group began chanting, invoking upon Nature, the Light and the Spirits to bring back the owner of the eye. The eye floated in the air as flesh sprung from it, slowly shifting and growing. It began to take on the vague shape of a male elf. Then, the cracking and snapping of bones was heard as they began to grow and pop into place. Hair rapidly grew from his head, hiding his face as layers of skin covered the muscle. Eventually, the spirit was restored, resulting in a screaming mass of hate. Eventually, the light show subsided, revealing the curled up form of a blood elf. Weak gasps escaped his lips as he lay there, looking about. His right eye was dull and dead, while the left looked about frantically. It took him a moment to figure out where he was. It took him less time to identify familiar faces. His good eye rested on Baydok, a smile creeping across his face. In the back, leaning against the door rested a smiling Oleander, ready to help him out again. As he looked at the other resurrecters, he took note of a familiar human priestess. He narrowed his eye at her as the paladin stepped forward, “Hello, brother.” The revived elf blinked and looked at Sanin, studying him, “Hello… Sanin… It's… good to… see you… once more…” He rested back on the bed as it dawned on the human priestess who she revived. She was too weak to do anything as she slumped over in despair. The other resurrecters slowly slumped over from exhaustion, leaving only Oleander and the revived man awake. The night elf grinned and stepped forward, “It's good to see you again. I've been so bored lately.”

“I… bet… It's good… to see you… too… It's good… to finally… be alive… once more…”
Shadovarn smiled and he slowly drifted off to sleep, his body fresh and unmarred save the bad eye.
