I don't get it. Why don't you just start off with the goggles? It's annoying to run to the nearest capital, only to to grab the goggles. Especially when you try to arrange events where you start off in a starter place, and travel.
Why don't people just run to the capital? Its annoying to have to create some system for someone to have them right away for the tiny proportion of people who create a character for instant RP in a starter zone.

Unless something's changed in Trinity, it's not terribly hard to make starter gear.
But it's not terribly hard to run to the capital, either.
I don't see the point in having to run to GMI to get them, when you could be spending your time RPing instead. It's annoying to run all the way to a capital, run back again and -then- start RP. Besides, it's very easy to make it starter gear. Or you could add it to some sort of OOC vendor in the starting zone.
I have never Rp'd right at the moment I have made a character right there in the starter zone. Usually I have to go to GMI first just to get to somewhere to RP. Its not all that big a deal, if you plan to stick with a character, and its not just throwaway.
