You are locked out like the rest of the world who's on 1.8, permanently as you can't stop a lower version of MC from updating now. (Due to having accepted 1.8 once)

I don't remember how the mine servers work. Only like 2 people are ever on at once, so I never bug him to update it, heh.

You aren't locked, you would just need to replace your minecraft.jar with one from 1.7.3. I did the same thing when I updated. Though if you guys play elsewhere I wouldn't see why you would downgrade. :P

Augh, Bukkit is becoming the bane of my existence on minecraft. I only know of one up to date server that I play on, because they don't use Bukkit.

I run an dedicated server as well ; If people are interested I can post the link in here for those who upgraded to 1.8. Normally was solely used by retail guildies, but seeing those are rare on it nowadays I could pass it open for all.

Dunno, just a thought I had. Doesn't matter really what you do in it seeing we'd all be waiting for 1.8. to arrive on CotH.. Just don't wreck other people's stuff. ^^

Just for those who don't know, it's actually quite easy to downgrade back to a server patch!

When doing so you'd likely wish to back up your worlds, but it is possible; just do a quick google search for it.

I have, but all methods seem to fail once you have upgraded to 1.8 just once. Automatic attempts to download it, which freeze the program if cancelled. (At least for me.) Even tried downloading some older Minecraft.exe files off the net. =\

Care to link a guide that you found to be working Rig? Or PM it and stuff.

All I had to do to downgrade was go to /bin, delete Minecraft 1.8.jar and replace minecraft.jar with a 1.7.3 version I had in another place. I helped Sersay do the same thing when she patched.

Worked like a charm! Thanks. Not sure what I did differently then with what I tried before, but at least that .jar file seems to work. ^.^
