Hello,
I had a question about druids.. The first one is how would a shapeshift look on a druid.. Would they just instantly change into it or not? The second one is how would there behavior be against other races and such. So I'm just a bit looking for a guide how to RP a Druid Kal'dorei.
I've always RPed it out that the change isn't instantaneous, but that it works rather quickly. It's not as though it takes them an hour or anything, just a few seconds at most.

As for their behavior toward other races? Stereotypical Kaldorei, if not moreso. Kaldorei are racist, xenophobic tree-huggers and hermits, y'know. In general, Druids are even more distrustful of outsiders than your aversgr Kaldorei, due to their connection with nature. About the only folks Kaldorei Druids would be okay with are Tauren who are part of the Cenarion Circle.
Thank you :) What is the reason for them being so racist?
Remember what they are. They've lived in relative isolation for over 10,000 years, up until the Third War. They're so deeply entwined with nature that they view anything that either harms nature, or doesn't revere it like them as either an enemy, or a lesser being, respectively.
Or you can take the "They're young and need to learn" perspective. Of course, this still includes largely distrust, and in no way is a viable excuse for your character to eRP with one of them. Either way, you'll probably look at other races as lesser.
I've always RP-ed the change as being very quick as well. Almost instant, really.

I'd say that a Night Elf's racism depends on gender and age, much more than class.

First off, an old Night Elf would be xenophobic due to living most of their life in isolation from the other peoples of Azeroth save other Kaldorei, Furbolgs and the Children of Cenarius.

A young Kaldorei, on the other hand, merely spent their childhood or a few decades or centuries after reaching adulthood shut in with their people, and would be able to adapt quickly to the rediscovery of the world.

Female Kaldorei are the most likely to be racist, angry, violent and sometimes even savage, due to the role their gender plays in Kaldorei society. They are - almost genetically - hunters, warriors, scouts and priestesses. Their role is protecting and guiding their people. They have no time to be nice and huggly with other races.

Male Kaldorei, on the other hand, are generally peaceful, patient and tolerant, due to how their gender role has most of them in craftsmanship and druidism. They have to be patient and slow to anger to work the intricate crafts and arts of the Kaldorei, and mind - some of these men produce jaw-dropping works of art, and nearly every fabled weapon of the Night Elves is made by them. Also, glaive-throwers. As for those that become Druids, they're the embodiment of tranquility and peace - a peace and harmony visible in nature. It's not always so - some choose to represent the vindicative aspect of nature - but the majority are tree-huggers, really.

Night Elves will -always- hate/distrust: Undead, Fel and Technology.
Arcane is always a very high possibility - due to it being a force that destroyed the world once before - something the Night Elves witnessed firsthand, hence their hatred of magi.

And that's why...
The Kal'dorei aren't racist. They're wary. A sentinel won't not lot a member of the Alliance pass through Ashenvale. They wouldn't beat lone gnomes in the forest because they use technology, and they wouldn't cut a tauren down to T-bones and flank steaks just for trying to hunt in their forest. They have almost no experience with outside races, but everything is connected to nature and the dream. They don't cull the furbolg, and their little contact as a race with other peoples has been fighting alongside them at Hyjal, and through the events of WoW. Many would see the orcs as redeemable due to their battles at Hyjal, others would still hate them with a passion. It comes down to the individual, but PLEASE don't think they're some evil race that tucks away in the forests. They're civilized, educated, and simply wary of allowing outside influence on their homes.

So in cataclysm they would hate a night elf mage?
Yup, basically.
They would, likely, as they hate Death Knights, for example.

Allow me to explain. In Cataclysm, the Shen'dralar Highborne are accepted back into Night Elven society, due to an emissary sent to High Priestess Tyrande. While Tyrande allows them to rejoin the Night Elves officially, they are still a prime target for persecution and sometimes imprisonment or being slain by the Night Elves, due to ancient grudges.

They can't outwardly attack an Arcanist in front of guards, but... nothing stops them from doing it out of sight. After all, they broke the world..

The only reason for which Tyrande accepts the returning Highborne is because the Kaldorei are desperate for aid. Some would see such action as unnecessary and dangerous, and would choose to deal with the problem... firsthand.
Night Elf mages? You mean Highborne. There is a massive amount of animocity between the two factions, as the Highborne caused the War of the Ancients, in a nutshell. The closing of the War of the Ancients is what caused the Sundering, which sunk some 60% of Azeroth (previously, all three playable continents were connected). So yeah. Most Kaldorei who were alive in those days (10,000 years ago), as well as many in the first five or so millenia following the Sundering, despise Highborne, and rightfully so.
Put it this way...

A couple thousand years after The War of the Ancients, the Highborne attempted to destroy Ashenvale with a magical arcane storm in a last ditch effort to regain control and have the law against arcane use stripped away. The Night Elves couldn't bring themselves to kill so many of their kin, so they were sent into exile. There was a further schism, between Highborne who left for the Eastern Kingdoms (hoping the Sundering left some other stretch of land across the new ocean) and became High Elves, and those who didn't want to risk it and stayed on Kalimdor, hidden in what is now Dire Maul. The Highborne managed to maintain their immortality through the use of a powerful demon that they used like a battery.

The only reason the Night Elves are accepting them again in Cataclysm is the same reason the Argent Crusade was accepting warlocks and shadow priests. They need the extra support of an entire army of what are essentially arch magi, having trained for ten thousand years. That and the fact many new Night Elves who didn't witness the Sundering don't understand the ban on the arcane and see High Elves, humans, gnomes, and the noble Draenei using it willy nilly, tearing apart armies with a flick of their wrists. They're being tempted into the arcane and don't know what it is they're getting in to. it's best to keep the dangerous act under direct supervision, and now that the Highborne are back, they can safely and logically instruct would-be Night Elf mages.

(From the phone again. :P)
