This little question popped into my head last night and I've been mulling it over and I want to know you guy's take on it:

Would a Royal Apothecary be a Special Profile?
Or would it only be a Class Variant, taking only a regular one?

Would it be a Special Profile because the Forsaken in question was either noticed by the Society or had applied and been accepted into the ranks, thus earning prestige by just being part.

But it was also said that any person with skill and determination to work, could also join. And with alchemy not all that uncommon, anyone could be the person chunking poisons and acids at people.

So there's the question. I'd like to see a general consensus for I intend to roll either a regular Apothecary or a Royal Apothecary.
Well, I have a character who is a part of the Royal Apothecary Society and I had no problems getting him approved.
So a normal profile, then, hmm?

Alrighty, thanks for the help and the input.
A Forsaken apothecary is fine.

A Forsaken Royal Apothecary of high rank and stature is a special profile.

A normal profile apothecary would be largely independent most likely, serving higher ranks, not being given so much leeway in his/her personal experiments.

A special profile apothecary will have his own servants for his experiments, possibly captured foes to experiment on, and be given a pretty wide berth as far as the law's concerned.

... This is just my interpretation, mind you.
Oooh, an interpretation that I like.

And something else was brought to my attention: Dark Apothecaries.

I've done a bit of research and they sounds something akin to what you would see in a Special Profile. And a little further digging revealed that a lot of them are higher ranked members of the Society.

Could a person lump the two together? A high(ish) ranking member of the Royal Apothecary Society that is also a Dark Apothecary?
I think high ranking members of the RAS -are- Dark Apothecaries.

I think Dark Apothecaries are just the RPG representation of the RAS. Not sure.
Oh, ok.

That makes sense too.

Thank ya much, Xigo.
