RP has declined for some odd reason. Cliques are growing, and events made by players are lowering in population, and I usually only see people I know from past RPs on around the time a major event is happening. It's a little sad. Other than that, I (sorta) agree with CappnRob.

Also, just in case any of you new youngin's come 'round town, don't get scared by my charming (horribly) good (bad) looks, and ask if you wanna RP. There's a 100% chance that if I'm not waiting on someone, or just lounging Hyjal for sake of RP-downedom, that I'll say 'Sure thing, who with, and where?' (Answer with 'I don't know, anywhere' and I'll kill y- I MEAN... FEED YOU POISONED MI- I MEAN... GIVE YOU A BACKRUB. YAH. THAT.)

Hope to see some of you around, that's the end of my short rant of noticus makingicus senseicus.

You act almost like this is a new phenomenon. As the year goes on, people have things to do and get less free time. The ones who remain do so because of solid friendships (cliques) and a dedicated source of RP fun. Expect a commensurately giant spike in player base and activity come the summer.

Couldn't have really put it better myself, honestly. The months before summer are usually the driest as far as RP goes, and it's kind of a bummer because it's when we really need it the most. At least, for myself personally, I like to use RP as a means to get away from pressing RL issues for a while. Finals are ridiculous most of the time, so I end up being on a lot.

At least, when I'm not studying. :P

All depends on the character for me. I'm slowly limiting who RPs with Leron to keep anyone from trying to abuse him for whatever, ICly or OOCly. Aendron's always been a recluse... And Doran's so focused on his little group of friends and trying to wrangle dat Keyus, he has kinda started overlooking other people and focused less on making more friends. I try not to limit my RP, but IC circumstances tend to tie my mains down. Except Kirolan. He's always free for random RP where any Belf DK is acceptable.

But back on topic, it is quite frustrating when you get some smartass remark in LFG or silence. While silence can be excusable (like sometimes my client randomly changes settings and Global channels get shut off), the "What's going on?" "RP" remarks are quite annoying. Followed with a conversation that floods the box of those of us RPing.

You said it, Kag.

Remember that not every player is a grade/high school student with no job. Many if not most of the players have lives to lead away from the server: higher education, work, family, etc. Summer is often the best time to get lots of RP going. Right now is simply a "dry" period.

Have faith, COTHers.
Haven't been here for an entire year, so don't be surprised I can't guess the 'Dry times', or end up guessing wrong. Didn't say I had forgotten people have lives outside the game... Beh, have a headache... Can't think.

Good day, nonetheless.
I guess I should stop saying "The Sky!" -every- time someone asks me that question, haha. Seriously, it's a motor response at this point, just like when people ask me what clouds look like, and I say rain, or they say see ya later, and I end it with aligator.

However, usually I do elaborate what's actually going on. I don't think people always -intend- for their snarky responses to be harmful or anything, as CoTH people like to try to be overly cute about everything, so getting too bent out of shape over it isn't a good call either.

I think that this idea should go hand in hand with people saying "Well, I can't RP there!" in some way, that really gets my goat. Don't ask what's going on in a place in an attempt to drag the RP over to another location because you aren't coming up with reasons to go to said... other place.

That's not pointed at anyone either, but it's something that happened all the time when I was in game, long, long ago. Dunno if it's relavant now!

Still happens! These days it's Hearthglen and to a smaller extent Booty Bay.
Ug. I mean, sometimes it's fun to RP in familiar places and do nothing but talk, y'know? I hate how everything think every day has to be adventure time epic storyline day.
Honestly, I never would have thought in a million billion trillion -Hell, googleplex- years I would be saying this, especially if you asked me back when I joined the server a couple years ago...

...But I miss Booty Bay RP.

It was so mindless, and silly, and fun. Just the fact that it was there, and that there was almost an arena match going on, or some sort of something bordering on a race riot outside the inn. :P

A bit off topic, but I realized that while reading through the thread and just had to say it.
Work is enough adventure for one day. I like to chill on CotH. I'll try to communicate that better when folks are asking for some RP.

Good advice.
