Perhaps the Guard would use a Church official (Priest, Paladin, etc.) as a judge. Stormwind seems like the kind of place where religious leaders might have that sort of position. It would certainly tie in to Humanity's very strong faith in the Light as well as the fact that the Light (and by association the Church) is commonly viewed as an source of justice by the Old Alliance races.
Whilst every liberal, just bone in my body screams injustice and murder at the idea of a religious leader in a civil position, (^-^) I have to agree with that idea. Paladins are the Judge sorts of characters lore-wise. And you're right, the Alliance, even for those who don't weild it, have a religious devotion to the Light. Excluding NElves and -maybe- Gnomes. Having a Paladin preside, whose entire lives are dedicated to the pursuit of justice, would make far more sense. o.o

Nah, I ended up playing her. She was quite irate that, while there was a defense, there was no prosecution. Krent ended up prosecuting and hilarity ensued.

Haha, I can't see any argument there that the judge -should- be the battalion commander. The main reason I decided to choose the Battalion Commander to take up the position of the judge is because the fact that all evidence (if any) would already be laying there in the possession of the Stormwind Guard, but bringing in a neutral party or just someone of the Church could work out too, maybe even better. I can see what you guys are trying to say up, expect the change made. Cheers.
