Purpose for the character/NPC:

Warning; This is a long thought-process, and I'm adding almost everything I thought of in the creation of the character concept.

I've learnt from my previous CMC, Garm, that playing a CMC and creating RP for people to enjoy with a character that isn't aligned with any faction - particularly one that is hostile to both the Alliance and Horde - is extremely difficult. The first I learnt is that not only does race matter, but also class.

This lead me to Mage: They seemed the sort to be able to venture out on a lot of strange shenanigans, and there's no shortage of ideas for what you can do with a mage; Magical research, travel and combat. Mages also tend to be relatively frail, so that was an argument for one needing the assistance of others.

The next I needed was a race; Something to make him worthy of a CMC. I wanted something that could be aligned with the Horde, I knew that. Having played the original Warcraft games, my mind went to Ogres. An interesting dynamic between the Ogres and Orcs is that it's a sort of Greek-Roman relationship between them. They are similar, and at the same time different, and they could easily respect and admire or hate and distrust each other.

Ogre Mages have a fantastic Lore behind them too; Originally created by Gul'dan, when he imbued them with the powers of Warlocks from the Altar of the Storms, and made to serve the Horde during the Second War. This lead me to the conclusion that if the Ogre Mage was Horde-inclined, he could assist in events for various Horde-guilds; For instance as a plot device or a quest giver!

At the same time, he could also have his own agenda; Ogre Mages frequently seek to increase their power and/or knowledge of the world. He wouldn't just be restricted to warzones in Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, but he could search for forbidden knowledge in Outland, study remnants of Scourge necromancy in Northrend and generally cause havoc in the world - all on the Horde's behalf, of course. Who would dare embark on such missions for their own gain?

My research presented a few interesting finds, as well.

Ogre Mages on Wowpedia Wrote:Because of their intelligence, and the fact that they often desire to search for arcane knowledge to enhance their spellcasting abilities, ogre magi are more likely to adventure than other ogres.

Ogre Mages on Wowpedia Wrote:Many Ogre mages such as Mogor, Cho'gall, Dentarg, and Blackheart, are more associated with orcs rather then their own kind.

By the end of all this I couldn't come up with an original name, but I figured that I could just use my own.

Location the character/NPC will reside: No restrictions, barring the obvious, such as Alliance territory.

Level requested: 80.

Any special equipment needed: None!
I made a few slight edits to the Purpose section, to better formulate it and make it easier on the eyes. Cheers!
Finally began work on the profile!
. . . Unfortunately, I'll have to say that I'm dropping this application in favor of other projects.
