I'm not too fond of having profiles being anonymous either, unless it's for a very good reason.

Speaking from experience, sometimes there is just someone that you want to avoid. Maybe you and this person just don't get along...maybe this person makes you uncomfortable OOCly and you just don't want to deal with them. I think players should have the right to know who they are RPing with just so that if the OOC attitude throws them off, they can choose to avoid that player in future instances. Do I think this outweighs the right to be hidden? I really do. I experienced this before and it was very helpful in avoiding someone who just made my skin crawl in a bad way. On the alternative side, I could have hide away on a secret alt, but why should anyone have to hide themselves away when they can just avoid the person?

I'm a bit on the fence to what Rigley said about having characters remin hidden so others cannot meta-game the fact that they are evil. On one hand, it would be nice to have an evil character do their thing without someone just being able to go to the wiki and see that the character really likes to cut off Dreanei tails. Dreanei characters would be completely oblivious when the character invites them out to tea. On the other hand, the players should have a right to know that the character might want to cut off their tails because hey, maybe they like their character having a tail! This could fall under a CW, but at the same time, doesn't that defeat the purpose of having a hidden evil?

That's my thoughts on this, at least!
