I've got an (1) to the left of my CoTH tab. What's that mean? Is it working like Facebook's notification 'warning'? And at the least, how am I supposed to check who linked me?

You probably still have the css cached. Try forcing a complete refresh of the page (I know it's usually something like Ctrl+R, Shift-F5, or Ctrl-F5), or purging your browser cache.
