So far, the arguing is showing this is sorta like the like system.

Best. Idea. Ever.
Ultimately all this discussion over it is pretty silly until it actually does something. Hopefully the system is relatively ignored. I just prefer the likes system. It got the job done. Now there's... this gold thing... and... eh.

Srs though, just pay it no heed. Who cares?
These systems aren't good for me. In games, I'm always that guy that hordes up the gold. "Upgrade my daggers? But my rusty daggers are still doing 1HP damage against enemies. I need my gold."

Literally as soon as I saw the gold thing on the forums I was like "Gold?.... Gold!? GOOOOLD!? HEHEHEHEHE!*crazy prospector dance*"
I don't like the idea of gold being retroactive because it usually rewards the older members. I kind of like it being reset for everyone to make a fresh start with it.

In a month or so it wont matter. We'd have to reset every time someone joined to make it even.
On a final (Maybe...) note for this, I see it this way. Imagine had that kretol hug token thing been more. what if it were 500 gold and we were meant to work up for it. But just immediately people start with this 50k gold and buy up all the tokens in stock. This completely removes the chances for anyone who can't afford it, and even can take away the chances for people who are pondering buying it because it's most of their gold, and somebody with so much gold just comes along and buys it pretty much because "Why not? I got gold to spend."

What's wrong with rewarding us older members though?

I don't think there's anything wrong with it but it can feel daunting when you're new to a forum and feel like the people around you who joined years back have immense perks. I mean it'll inevitably happen again but it'd be nice to implement this with a sort of fresh start.
Eh. I doubt this will give anyone perks. But even if it did, it would show people that are new, old, whatever that they could have something to work towards. Just that, people that have been here for longer will have more to show for it---because, well, we've put more time in here.

We all know---Time is money, friend!

Edit: Also, to be honest---I don't think we should get perks for this at -all-. It encourages just posting crap on the forums then, considering the way to make money is by character count/post count.
But Rensin..

Being here forever is a reward in itself. :3

This reminds me of something my pappy used to say...

We need more Gold!
The way I see it (Yeah I've said those 5 words a lot now...) while yes, older members have contributed a lot to the forum only since yesterday have they contributed with the system in place. I honestly don't see why older members would need a head start on a system that means absolutely nothing.

I gagged a little, Mikain.
It just seems like a weird statistic for me to watch.

And I say! Having it reset totally isn't fair! Now all that FH work means nothing to a system I didn't even know existed!
