First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
I was playing World of Warcraft for about 3 years, the latter 2 of which were primarily Roleplaying. I've been on a sort of hiatus for several months now, I've tried RPing in other MMORPGs, but none of them quite caught me in the same way WoW did, so I've now decided to give a private RP server a go, and reading through some forum posts, this one looked worth a shot.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I'm from the United Kingdom, and my primary language is English.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
When I was young, my friend showed me the game, and I was more or less hooked from then on. I started out mainly doing PvE, but started mainly RPing later on.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:
I did a google search for WoW Private RP Servers, and this was the first result. I read through the forums, read the rules, liked what I saw, and decided to write an introduction.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
I've done a lot of military-esque Roleplay, I've tried religious forsaken role-play, a little cultist Roleplay from time to time. I like heavy role-play with relatively small groups of friends, though I do find large clashes between guilds, or events with big groups of people exciting from time to time.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
I really enjoy roleplaying mages and warlocks, simply because I have an intense interest in magic and all things arcane. I also find WoW's take on demons particularly interesting, and so I find Roleplaying a Warlock very interesting. Though it did take me a time to get a handle on how they would act in regular society.

What are your expectations of this server?:
I have a few expectations of the server, but from reading, they mainly seem to be good. I expect a respectful and mature community of some RP-dedicated people, who have fun when they have the time. I also expect a helpful staff, who are willing and able to make the setting and RP work more smoothly for everyone.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
The general rule about respect appeals to me the most. I have often found the /trade and /general channels to get very quickly out of hand on some disconcerting topics. I've also seen far too many rude arguments between players, and making sure everyone respects each other appeals to me greatly.

Did you know that we have a Mentor Program? It's entirely voluntary and you as a new player can sign up for it right now in your introduction! Are you interested in signing up to be assigned a Mentor? If so, say so here (Please enter at least "Yes" or "No"):
I did not know there was a mentor program. I'm fairly certain that I can RP well enough without needing a mentor at the moment.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
It was perfectly still within the room, an almost entire darkness permeating the bleak interior. The only form of light was emanating from the faint glow of the runic symbols drawn flawlessly across the dark stone floor. They were formed without the slightest smudge, drawn of an untouchable energy, almost seeming like a part of the stone itself. Faint wisps of blackened smoke rose from the runes, barely visible in the near darkness. The runes themselves were a dark purple, clearly expressing the arcane energies held within their intricate designs.

The intricacy of the runes could be obvious to all, but only one who had studied such symbols would truly be able to comprehend the nature of the pattern. The runes on the floor were set about in three separate layers, three circles within each other. The outermost circle was the simplest of the three, with the lines around it forming spikes at seemingly random intervals, with a line diagonally crossing it at the bottom, leading off to a small triangle at its end. The middle circle was more complicated, and held varied markings along its lines, and was cut across several times, with a square rune inlaying it at one point. The innermost circle was the most complex, and held within it was a small triangle, the entirety of which was covered with incomprehensible runic writing. At the center of this triangle, in the middle of the dark room, sat a lone figure, hidden entirely by his robes, as he sat immobile in the blackness.

The man sat as if dead, not a sound coming from him. Were one to listen closely, they would not even be able to discern the beat of his heart, nor the slow rhythm of his breath. By all accounts, the man would be considered dead, were it not for the faint, indiscernible movement of his lips. This movement itself would not be visible to any onlooker, for the cowl of his robe covered his face completely, a black veil of shadows covering his features entirely, and making his appearance unnoticeable even if it were in the light of the sun. The cold aura of power around this man would be heavy for anyone to feel, more noticeable than the man himself. The power was ancient, emanating from his very existence, the same way the arcane emanated from the runes traced along the floor.

Suddenly, his lips stopped moving. The man looked up, staring ahead, the runes flashing brightly for a moment. The smoke coming from the tracings would thicken, swirling into a larger mass as the runes themselves calmed. Another presence would be felt in the room, forming from the darkness of the chamber. The figure would look up at the smoke, content that his ritual had worked. He whispered only one word, from a language so alien that almost no other would know of what he was speaking. His voice broke the quiet of the darkness, ‘Krenzinul’.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
Yes, I'm quite curious on what the general activity of the server is? An approximation of how many people would be RPing at any given time. I'd also like to ask how diverse the types of guilds on the server are?
Hello, Racathor, and welcome to COTH!

If you haven’t already, please do make sure to double-check the rules and policies so you’re for sure familiar to the server’s expectations! If you have further questions, I recommend giving this guide a read, as it contains a lot of helpful information for players who are new to the server. Also, if you haven’t already, make sure to register your in-game account in the Account Management page using the same information you registered your forum name under. As for downloading the correct client and other things that you need to do in order to connect, I recommend giving this a read, as I found it very helpful myself when we made the switch to Cataclysm.

As for making your first character, there are a lot of helpful articles and guides for you to read up on in case you don’t fully understand the lore. The wiki also contains helpful tips for making a character and for when you’re writing your first profile, such as scale and height.

When you get your account created, make sure to /join Chat and /join Barrens in-game for if you have any questions not answered in the forums. Feel free to send me a message if you need any assistance, and I’ll give if a reply as soon as I can! And if not me, any Overseer, GM, or Forum Helper.

I enjoyed the descriptiveness of your imagery in your story - it shows your power as a writer, and I'm interested to see your RPing style after reading it.

If you're interested in rolling a Warlock, I'd point you towards @Rosencrat 's Solheim Society, which is recruiting and becoming active again. They'll be having an event on the 5th, if you want something to look forward to there.

Activity is all over the place. It ranges from as low as 5-10 to as many as 20-30 depending on the time/day of the week. As for guilds? There are guilds of all kinds on the server. I'd recommend giving our guilds forum a look to see the variety we have.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy your stay!
