I was looking up pages on the Plague in WoWPedia for a reason I cannot remember, and I came across this.

A cure is found for the Plague and the zombie infestation ends.
The Scourge Invasion itself still continues.
Player avatars in the Forums become zombies.
Plagued Roaches no longer infect those who attack them. They slowly disappear, and no longer respawn when one is killed.

This snippet is from the world event preceding the Wrath of the Lich King, Zombie Infestation. Basically, a horde of zombies runs across the world, the Horde and Alliance fight against them, while a lore figure on each side works on a cure.

So, is this canon? Is the cure canon?
I think that was more an inoculation for that specific strain of plague or something.

Not really sure, actually. I don't think it is a major cure, or perhaps they just used the wrong wording.
Even if it is canon (I'm not about to say it is or isn't, I'm just one lone GM, but we did have an event for the pre-Cata stuff, so maybe), the Scourge had a better plague during the actual events of Wrath of the Lich King, which was used to even infect paladins of the Argent Crusade. So possibly canon, but the cure doesn't mean a thing against the new plague.
