The Love Festival 2014

Hello, boys and girls! It's time for....

Starting tomorrow Ohgodtomorrowalreadyjesuschrist, The Love-Is-In-The-Air Festival will be commencing at Thousand Needles, at what is the Southsea Holdfast OOC, seen here.

This can be accessible without GM summon by taking the Portal to Gadgetzan, taking the .taxi to the Fizzle & Pozzik's Speedbarge, then fly southeast to Southsea Holdfast. Look for the three ships and land at the dock, seen here.

Follow your way up the path of lanterns and you'll find yourself at the cliffside resort. There, you can casually RP to your heart's content throughout the duration of the Festival. Provided for all attendees, singles and couples alike, is a bar and restaurant, a pond for respite, three different hotels for sleep and relaxation, and the entertainment stage where most major events will be taking place.

During Week 2 of the event, starting Sunday, Feb. 22, we will be partaking on a cruise aboard a cruiseline represented OOC as Horde and Alliance gunships placed together with a giant plank in between. We will be out at sea for the remaining duration of the event. This can be accessible either flying southeast from Fizzle & Pozzik's Speedbarge or simply west of the Bar and Restaurant. Everyone is invited, even those who were not present in the opening boarding RP.

FESTIVAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • All player characters are eligible in joining in and out of the main festival grounds, regardless if you're single or coupled. You can come in and out of the resort at any time to your discretion.
    • All characters are also eligible in joining in the Speedbarge Cruise. However, once you bring in a character, he/she cannot leave until the cruise is over. If your character must leave, please speak with me so we can have that character escorted via rented gryphon or boat.
  • Weapons are not allowed. If you bring in a weapon, you must turn it in to a TLE worker, who will be checking it and storing it until your character either leaves the grounds or until the end of the festival.
    • Participants for the Battle Couple Tournament will be provided different weapons depending on your combat style. Nonlethal weapons will be provided for melee fighters, magic channelling items will be partially-silenced, etc., to avoid fatalities and major casualties. See "Battle Couple Tournament" rules for details.
  • No fights, harassments, assaults, and so forth are allowed on festival grounds. If you have an issue with someone, take it off the grounds or report to any of the TLE workers present.
    • Failure to comply will have your character(s) removed from the grounds for that day. Repeat offenses will result in a full ban from the entire event.
  • If you intend to have something disastrous happen to your character such as a kidnapping or an accidental death, please speak with me first for approval before you begin any means of enacting it.
  • All standard CotH rules and policies apply. No metagaming, no powergaming, etc.

The Agenda dates and times are listed below. Main Festival events are in red while Speedbarge are in green:
  • Sunday, 16th: Opening Ceremony, Bachelor Auction

EVENTS RULES:

Quote:
Sunday, 16th: Opening Ceremony, Bachelor Auction
2:00-4:00 PM Server
Main Stage

The festival will begin with a fireworks show and a short speech by Kapre as your Master of Ceremonies. The grounds will be introduced, as well as a brief overlook on festival rules and events. After that will be a Bachelor Auction where a single man and a woman will be presented and participants can bid for.

If you wish to present yourself as an auction "item", please whisper the DM at the time of the event.

Quote:
Monday, 17th: Strip Poker
5:00 PM Server
Bar and Restaurant

You are not required to know how to play poker OOC. If you do, you may freely emote your hands, depending on your rolls.

The rules are simple and sweet: Everyone /roll 100 once for every RW, and lowest roller has to strip a major article/set of clothing. You are only allowed 5 "articles" of clothing. They are:
  • Hat (Jewelry counts for this too. All must be stripped at once)
  • Chest
  • Shoes
  • Gloves
  • Trousers

You're out of the game as soon as you are in your underwear. Full nudity is not allowed in this particular event (though if you hold a private strip poker game of your very own outside of this event, you are welcome to do so at your own discretion and with full party consent).

If the event ends up having more than 5 attendees, then the event will be divided up by groups of 5(ish) to prevent the event from dragging. As soon as a winner is determined within that party of 5, that winner can be pitted against the other winners with all their clothes fully on from the start of the new round.

Winners get a random prize!

Tuesday, 18th: Eating Contest
4:00 PM Server
Bar and Restaurant

This event will be played with singles against singles and couples against couples. The rules will be as follows:

SINGLES:

1.) IC, your character will be paired another (your potential date), where you will be feeding each other cupcakes. However, because this is a Singles event, you're still competing for yourself. The point of having a partner is just simple playfulness.

2.) The event will go by RW rounds, where you must /roll 5. #3-5 means you get to stay in the game, but #2 will mean that your character is feeling sick/choking/feeling grossed out by the flavor/whatever you wish. #1 is a Strike. 3 Strikes, you're out.

3.) Last player standing wins.

COUPLES:

1.) IC, your character will be paired with his/her lover in a team, where you will be given a larger cake for you to eat at a time. You can choose to feed your partner a chunk of the cake, stuff your faces like dogs, what have you. The point is to have you both finish the cake each RW round.

2.) The event will go by RW rounds, where both of you mus /roll 5. #3-5 means your character gets to keep competing, but #2 will mean your character is feeling sick/choking/feeling grossed out by the flavor/whatever yuo wish. #1 is a Strike. 3 Strikes means your character cannot continue, but if your partner is still able to continue, your team is still in the game. Your team is out when both of you get 3 Strikes.

3.) Last team standing wins.

Winners get a random prize!

Wednesday, 19th: Blind Date Game
5:00 PM Server
Main Stage

One contested will be seated and isolated from three others, who hide behind a curtain and away from view. After a series of questions, the isolated player will pick one out of three for a date in the resort!

The isolated player have only three questions to ask; they must be prepared ahead of time in macros. The hidden potential dates have only 2 full emotes to answer, and they are to take turns in asking. Each hidden player has only 2 minutes to answer their question.

Who plays the role of the isolated contested and the ones obscured by a curtain will depend on the genders and orientations who show up to the event. If you intend to attend the event, please prepare your questions ahead of time, regardless if you're an questioning or answering player.

Friday, 21st: Mud Wrestling Contest
6:00 PM Server
Outside the Cave

A sexy new event feature!

Players will only face an opponent of their own gender (opposites only if the numbers are very uneven). The entire time, your character is just in swim trunks/a bikini while you fight in a pool of mud.

The goal is to push your opponent out of the pool’s edge. Each player has 5 HP. The attacking player must /roll over 60 to take down 1 HP.

All players, even those who lost, are winners! Losing players obtain boxes of chocolate as a consolidation prize. This event will follow a tournament style until the last standing player wins the game. The prize is randomized.

Sunday, 23nd: Speed Dating
2:00 PM Server
Bar and Restaurant

This is a Singles only event. This one will require you pay really good attention to your partner and that you make sure your typing speed is up to snuff (don't worry, slow typers are given leeway).

Tables will be set up in a ring where dates will be swapping partners. For this event, women will remain seated while men move from table to table; same sex dates will be set up depending on the turnout. You are given 10 minutes to chat and get to know your date before the RW announces the moving suitors to change tables.

The event ends when everyone participating would have chatted with all their dates according to their orientation. If the turnout (regardless of orientations involved) is low, the event will extend the swap time to allow more time for each date.

Monday, 24rd: Beauty Pageant/Couple Costume Contest
6:00 PM
Alliance Deck

Participants of different categories will present themselves before the audience in the best costume they can come up with. Players are to be creative with the in-game costume models the best they can for the outfit before presenting what it should be IC. Resources for different costumes include icy-veins.com, wowhead.com, WoW Model Viewer, and worldofwardrobes.net (if they get their server back). The categories for the contest are: Best Single Male, Best Single Female, and Best Couple.

This pageant does have its own rules:
  • 1.) Participants are player characters only. No hunter pets, no warlock minions, etc.
    • 1a.) Unless that CMC is able to change their own gear, they are, sadly, ineligible to join. Sorry, Ydir and Ausar.

2.) Real weapons are still not allowed, but prop weapons are. Before you step up, please check your prop weapon with the DMs. Props in general are also allowed.

3.) Costumes can be sexy and teasing, but they otherwise must be wholesome. No nudity, no murderer/rapist/wifebeater/molester costumes.

4.) Disguise trinkets and model morphs are also prohibited from the contest. You must use actual game gear to dress up. Do NOT request GMs to grant you morphs just for this contest.

5.) If you want to add special effects, either use items/trinkets you obtained yourselves or play you’re your spells (AoEs make good special effects). Do NOT request GMs to grant you items and trinkets just for this contest. Prepare your special effects ahead of time.

Failure to comply will disqualify you from the contest. Failure to Rule 3 will ban you from the day’s event. Running back while continuing to break Rule 3 will ban you from the entire festival.

The winners of each category are decided by votes by all participants and audience members. Prizes will include some money and a random vanity item.

Friday, 28th: Battle Couple Contest
6:00 PM
Horde Deck

A major event for the winners to win the Big Love Rocket!

Solo fighters are full out prohibited from signing up for the event—you MUST have a partner. As much, and I mean as much as possible, refrain from “pugging”: have your partner either be your lover, your date, or at least a close friend or family member. Pugging will only be allowed if you are generally new and/or you don’t have any player characters close to your own.

The game rules are as follows:

Spoiler:
  • 1.) Once more, you must have a partner.
    • The following are eligible as a battle pair:
      • Married/mated spouses
      • Engaged couples/suitors
      • Boyfriend/girlfriend/casual lovers
      • Festival dates (Dates you acquired from the Bachelor Auction, Blind Date Game, etc)
      • Unmarried parents to at least one child
      • ”Old flames”
      • Family members and relatives
      • Close friends (friendship must be established longer than 2 weeks)
      • Teacher/pupil
      • Guildmates/coworkers/war or mercenary colleagues
The following are NOT eligible as a battle pair (with exceptions):
      • Random acquaintances, especially if you never met before.
      • Casual friends and acquaintances
      • ”Fair-weather” friends
      • Pick-up groups (pugs)
2.) Treat this tournament as you would in a 2v2 PvP Arena fight: establish your roles in the fight and plan ahead a battle strategy of some sort. If you are a priest/paladin couple, priest casts from a distance while the paladin melees up close. If you are a mage/warlock pair, mage focuses on defenses while the warlock focuses on the offenses. And so on and so forth.

3.) You are not allowed to use your own weapons, even if you brought them to the grounds and stored them. Nonlethal weapons will be provided in their place. Classes can be provided:
    • Wooden swords, axes, clubs, etc.
    • Pellet guns with enchanted ammunition (even without the enchantments, they still hurt!)
    • Padded arrows with enchanted “arrowheads”
    • Magic channel items such as wands and staffs that are partially silenced to prevent or nerf down casting more potentially lethal spells such as ice lances, life drains, and Shadow Word: Death. Curses and debuffs are fully silenced.

4.) Each team has a collective HP of 6, with 3 per partner. Heals are not allowed in the fight, nor are buffs, at least as far as HP goes (you can RP out a buff, however).
    • 3a.) You are allowed to distribute the HP unevenly, such as giving 4 HP to the plate partner while the cloth partner has 2. If you choose to do this, please note it in the sign-up form below.

5.) Both partners of the attacking team must /roll 10 and obtain a sum of 11 or higher to successfully hit the defending team. A perfect 20 is a critical hit that will dock down 2 for the defending team.

6.) Because heals and HP buffs are not allowed, both partners of the attacking team must contribute to offense towards the defending team. If you are a class that focuses on buffing the partner while the partner is a class capable of attacking more than one person at once, you can RP out your character “buffing” that partner while the partner attacks both members of the defending team him/herself.

7.) The team is defeated when both members are taken down. Fatalities are not allowed and CWs are prohibited from this event.

Like the Mud Wrestling Contest, this can either be a true tournament (where winning teams stay to fight the other winning teams) or single battles, depending on the turnout and depending on how long you choose to stay for the fights. If you are a winning team but you choose to leave the tournament, you can win any of the randomized prizes. The Big Love Rocket will only be rewarded to the team who won the most battles.

Sign up form is below:

Spoiler:
Code:
[b]Names and Players:[/b] [Provide the names of the characters as well as the players in parentheses. For example, Cristovao diSilvio (CappnRob) and Diwaata (ImagenAshyun)]

[b]Classes:[/b] [Identify the classes of the characters involved. E.g., Paladin and Priest]

[b]HP Distribution:[/b] [This only applies if you plan to distribute the 6 HP unevenly. State how you’ll be applying the HP and who will have more than the other. If you’re going to have an even 3/3, type “6 Even”.]

[b]Intended Strategy:[/b] [Intended to be flavor for the battle unless the team intends to attack at the same time. For example, Cristovao will be protecting Diwaata with upfront melee while Diwaata attacks from a distance (tanking and spellcasting DPS)]

[b]Will you be staying the whole fight for the big prize?:[/b] [Only contestants who win the most battles in a tournament style can win The Big Love Rocket. However, if you cannot stay the whole event and choose to leave early, even if you did win some battles, you must state that you may leave early. Winners who only fight once or twice can still win minor prizes.]

Saturday, 1st: Impromptu Play
6:00 PM Server
Alliance Deck

This event will be DMed and lead by Geoni.

A limited number of players can sign up to participate as actors while everyone else can attend and watch the show! The story premise will be provided by Geoni, and the actor players will take roles and try to carry the story goal within 2 hours (must stay within 2 hours to prevent the event from dragging).

PLEASE sign up here if you wish to participate. We need to know who will be acting so we can have a general idea of a story goal to act for our audience.

Audience members have their own rules:
  • 1.) Refrain from speaking or interacting with the environment outside of the theater area during the duration of the play. We want to keep the flow of the event easier to follow by having emotes come from only the actors and the DM. A separate ingame chatroom will be made for casual audience reactions and conversations with fellow spectators.
    • 1a.) You ARE allowed, however, to emote direct audience participation such as heckling and cheering for the hero. In fact, audience participation is encouraged. Conversations and frequent chuckles here and there with your fellow audience are what we want out of the main emotes and kept in the audience chatroom.

2.) Do not enter the backstage without permission from the DM.

3.) Do not try to or plan to sabotage the play, even IC. Throwing popcorn and rotten tomatoes are fine, but chucking your chair at the actors or lighting the stage on fire is not. If your character hates the play, just have him/her leave.

Quote:
Sunday, 2nd: Cutest Single/Couple Contest, Closing Ceremonies
6:00 PM

Similar to the Beauty Pageant/Costume Contest in that players vote for Cutest Single/Cutest Couple. However, contestants must apply ahead of time to be eligible for being voted on.

Rules:
  • 1.) You must sign up in order to be eligible for voting. Sign-ups are preferably to be done ahead of time though same-day sign-ups are allowed.

2.) You must have attended or participated in at least one of the Love Festival events (there are 10 total). The more, the better.

3.) If you are signing up as a couple, you must be a true couple, not casual buddies.

4.) TLE Employees and workers are not eligible for the contest.

Contestants will present themselves on the stage as they are and talk about their best traits, similarly as they would for the Bachelor Auction. After this, players vote for either of the two categories: Cutest Single Male, Cutest Single Female, Cutest Couple.

Winners will be crowned and presented their gifts. The Closing Ceremony will be composed of music and dancing until the Festival grounds close.

The sign-up form is below:

Cupid is going all out to get Jof a date.
The Festival begins in an 42 minutes! Come ingame and whisper Kapre for an invite!
The Bachelor Auction is over, and the resort is now free for casual RP to take place. Tomorrow is Strip Poker!

There will be slight changes in the second week of the agenda due to time restrictions on those days, so we'll be touching on a bit of March before the Festival is over. That would also mean more time for the Battle Couple Contest and the Impromptu Play.... which reminds me, if you play an actor, artist, or any kind of performer, get you bums over here this instant!
Strip Poker begins at 5:00 PM today! Though I will make a note that I may or may not be a bit late. Regardless, come to the grounds for grand RP!

Updates for the next upcoming events should be coming soon.
We got two winners for the Eating Contest: Ydir and Korvon! Congratulations to both of you!

Now, this is a very important announcement. The second "week" of the Love Festival has been extended due to the fact that I have an exam and a psych project due that week (exam on Tuesday, project on Thursday), plus the following Wednesday would be a bad day for any event to take place (Not to mention WE STILL NEED ACTORS!). So Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday would be fairly uneventful, at least on my part. However, I will be trying my best to come up with mini-events for my event associates to DM/host so that your time on the cruise will still be a fun one :)

As I'm certain you don't want your toons cramped on a boat for too long, the ship will be docking on Saturday in time for the Battle Couple Contest. Speaking of the boat, we'll be on a different ship location as I find the Speedbarge difficult to prepare for the events that were supposed to be taking place (an IC explanation will be provided when the time comes). I will be preparing for the alternative location sometime soon.

I still encourage you come, for you'll never know when Kwee Q. Peddlefeet will be returning to cause chaos! Blind Date Game will begin at 5:00 PM tomorrow! Be there or be square!
Friday's event is pushed back to 6:00 PM. Enjoy Tol Barad!

The Blind Date Game will start at 5:00 PM Server today. If you hope to participate, prepare your 3 questions regardless if you're going to asking or answering!
Traffic, a supposed "emergency" at work, and chaos at my other work prevented me from arriving home on time. The Blind Date Game will begin at 6:00 PM Server tonight! That's a 37 minutes from now!

If the event goes on longer than 7:00 PM (when I must go), we can either cancel early or players can just keep playing without me.
1.) The OP has been updated to include rules to the Beauty Pageant/Costume contest and the Impromptu Play. PLEASE comply to the event rules (especially the contest rules 3, 4, and 5).

2.) The Speedbarge as the IC cruise has been replaced OOC, though the construction of the location is still under progress. Currently, there is no OOC lodging on board, as I spawned ships with closed doors. I'll try my best to replace at least the Alliance ship, as below decks is closed off to the sides (whereas the Horde is open to the sides when all doors are opened). If I am unable to build OOC lodging, I can either spawn a smaller ship on the side as a stand-in or players can simply fly to the main Festival grounds for the beds provided in the hotels.

Both OOC ships require the patch to get onboard. Get it now!

3.) The Mud Wrestling contest is tomorrow at 6:00 PM Server!
Due to complications IRL and on the computer, the Mud Wrestling Tournament will be delayed an hour, so the event starts at 7:00 PM Server! I sincerely apologize.
The Mud Wrestling Contest (no longer made a tournament because ho damn, I think we capped at LEAST 15 players) is over! Everyone was a winner, even the losers! I'm glad, though, the turnout was quite a big one!

Next event is Speed Dating on Sunday, 2:00 PM Server! However, I'm aware that there are players who use Macs and, therefore, cannot obtain the patch. I may just not have a cruise after all, or only have an attempt at one for the Impromptu Play. We shall see, however. Stay tuned!
