Conquest of the Horde

So, what's the deal with it, CotH canonically? It's kinda a big deal lore-wise and I presume that the second instance is implied to happen in Cata, so...
Well, the bigger issue to me is what happens after the bad dudes are dead. Seems to me that it's too culturally significant for alliance, Argents and Forsaken to ignore. Unless WoD pulls something for its future from out of the blue, what will CotH do?

I think @Krilari is planning to address that further on in the Argent Crusade quest arc.

Sylvanas turns it in to her own private hunting estate.

The AC questline has Stratholme retaken from the Scourge, and yes I believe @Krilari is going to run that storyline.
