Honestly, the only thing that got me excited at E3 thus far was the new Witcher 3 trailer.

The Witcher series is the most under-appreciated RPG out there right now. Sure, the games have their flaws; the first Witcher game suffered from lackluster combat, and The Witcher 2 suffered from a flawed difficulty curve and terrible interface. Neither of the games have been "perfect" thus far.
....However, the same criticisms can be applied to other games in the genre. Vanilla Skyrim had lackluster combat, a terrible UI, and more bugs than a rotting corpse on it's release. And yet it got 10/10's and lavish amounts of praise from the gaming journalism. Dragon Age 2 was also a horrid mess in nearly every regard, yet it too got a free ride in reviews. The Witcher 2 was far superior to both games, both in storyline and game play.
It always bothered me that some games and companies get held to a different standard than others. It's like, you'll
constantly see JRPGs and other such games get mercilessly bashed for being "repetitive" and "grindy" and "uninspired." Yet in the same breath, journalists will give the next Call of Duty game a perfect score, even though it's always the same bullshit.
Sorry--tangent.
Anyway, The Witcher 3 is the only game I'm looking forward to from E3. I've completely lost interest in Dragon Age: Inquisition. I have no plans to buy it. The trailers look nice, but knowing EA it's probably all bullshots. And those screen shot reveals of the characters that have a quote by them?
Terrible writing. The quotes the characters say are just...
awkward.
As for other stuff...I think Nintendo had the best showing. While I haven't bought a Nintendo product in around 4 years, I've always admired how Nintendo at least
tries. They're always willing to give new things a try, even if they do stick to the same IP's. I don't mind the fact that they're always releasing the same IP's, 'cause they always try to do something different. That, and they don't seem to be as dickish as the other AAA developers.
Dunno if it's enough to make me buy a Wii U, though. I think the only thing that could make me do so is if Nintendo announced Shigesato Itoi was heading the development of a whole new RPG. That'd make me buy a Wii U or a 3DS in a heart beat.
Seriously folks, if you haven't played Mother 3 yet, go play Mother 3. It's the only video game that's actually made me cry.
Far Cry 4 disappointed me because it wasn't Blood Dragon. I mean, I'm sure Far Cry 4 will be
okay, for what it is. Far Cry 3 was pretty decent--great shooting gameplay with a cringe-inducing, subtlety racist storyline.
But seriously, Ubisoft should just drop everything and give us a full game version of Blood Dragon. If they gave a serious effort to it (as in building a game around it from the ground up, and not just re-skinning stuff from an initial game), it could be
amazing. The Blood Dragon DLC was already pretty damn amazing. A reveal for that would get me way more excited than a Far Cry 4 reveal.
The thing is, Far Cry 4 just looks like the same ol' stuff. Except it's in a different locale and there are elephants. Alright? Cool, I guess? I'll probably buy it 'cause I'm a sucker for mindless single-player shooters, but eh.
Other than that, not too much piqued my interest. It's hard for me to get excited about video games now, with the state of the industry. I mean, I can't trust
anything from the mainstream gaming industry now. Every trailer is bullshot doctored lies, meant to generate as much marketing hype as possible. Style over substance to the max of extreme.
