Reason: I actually came to really enjoy this kind of creature in Guild Wars 2, with the Skritt. I see the potential to use some of that with WoW's Kobold race, and they are largely ignored as a whole (though they are pretty craven, so lack of attention is usually their thing). Also...must protect candle.

Personality: Muskadean is well-meaning but craven. He often writes checks with his mouth that his behind can't cash, and he knows it. He's quick to disappear when the going gets tough, and to that end he's become very good at finding where the exits are when he arrives in a new location. Like many of his race, however, when backed into a corner his fight or flight kicks into high gear, and he can become ferocious in his attempts to find a way out.

History: Growing up in Elwynn forest, Muskadean was just a child when he witnessed the destruction of Stormwind first-hand. When the smoke cleared, he would often take trips into the empty ruins, either pretending to be one of the Humans that he had or simply stealing any candles he had found for his numerous siblings. When the Humans returned, he would often watch the rebuilding efforts, marvelling at the complex structures.

His life would change when the building completed, as the disgruntled architects of the new city would retreat to the forest and form the Defias brotherhood. The Kobolds would join forces with them, taking over the mines. Muskadean worked hard to dig as much gold as he could, but whenever the mines were invaded, he was nowhere to be seen for its defense. The taskmasters caught on, and to make a point, they exterminated half his siblings, promising to finish the rest along with his mother if he even ran again.

Knowing that his family would die if he failed, he made one of the few brave decisions of his life and decided to sneak them out of Elwynn forest. Under the cover of night, they fled to the north, all the way to the Arathi Highlands. The journey made Muskadean curious about the rest of the world, and with this desire outweighing his cowardice, he left his family in the care of the Drywhisker Clan and went out into the world...or at least to the places where he could best avoid trouble.
