Ok, so I've patched up, and it says Invalid Game Version.
I've tried
-With launcher
-Without launcher
-Remembering account name
-Not remembering account name
-Closing WoW, trying again
-Patchlist is correct
Still I get the same error! Why oh merciless WoW gods, why?

Run repair.exe then run it with the launcher.
I did this before I read your post, and it worked. So I must've scried the future and unconsciously forseen your reply!

I made the copy of the WoW folder, now I have both version, but lets hope the 3.0.8 works
EDIT: T_T, I get something like corrupted files and a green link right when I press Login, can someone help me out?
I tried to log in on 2.0.3, but it told me that it couldn't validate the game version.
Then I updated to 2.0.8 and it also told me that it couldn't validate the game version.
But this time it also told me that my game files might be corrupted, it normally only says this when you patched up to a version higher then the server's.
(Yes, I tried repairing the game and changing the realmlist back to CotH but without succes.)
I probarly did something stupid, do you perhaps know what?
I'm getting the same problem as dannycrane. I updated to 3.0.8 about a week ago to play on retail and I'm 100% sure that the realmlist is set to CotH now. I've triple checked my username/password, but it still says I have the wrong account info every time I try.
I think you need 3.0.8.9506.
Just upgrade all the way at this point.

I did the same thing, thought mine was working, then i fixed the realmlist and it said NO WAY BUDDY

I tried to log in several times. And I did the WoWrepair. Still getting the validate error.
