Welcome!
Lok'Tar! Conquest of the Horde was originally a private World of Warcraft RP community that focused primarily on roleplay within the WoW setting. Originally established in September of 2007, CotH enjoyed a healthy reign of over seven years focused on WoW roleplay. On January 22nd of 2015, a DMCA notice was issued, resulting in a halt of the WoW RP focus. Now, the community has expanded to encompass multiple worlds in various games and settings. This community will serve as a hub for members to join like-minded individuals in any game or environment. The community itself will also host a few game worlds of its own after development progresses enough.
While the dust is settling after the revelation of the WoW server closure, feel free to hang out and see how development goes!

  Reminder - Leveling
Posted by: Grakor456 - 01-20-2008, 11:31 PM - Forum: Community News - Replies (1)

People seem to have missed the new rule regarding levels. To spell it out:

Only players who were here BEFORE THE DOWNAGE will get free levels to 70 right away (assuming they fill out the Intro and Profile, of course.) Players who join after need to not only have their Intro done and Profile approved, but they must have played for at least a week and have at least three players who can vouch for their RP skills and maturity.

There are NO exceptions to this rule.

  New site hosting
Posted by: Kretol - 01-14-2008, 01:41 PM - Forum: Community News - Replies (1)

I'm currently in the process of transferring all files to a new host. Currently, the old host is using the database from the new host, and when I finally upload all the files to the new host, I'll be updating the DNS nameservers.
Therefore, if you're experiencing slow browsing, you're probably still using the old site and your cache hasn't been updated. It should be updated relatively soon automatically.

And as a side note, the address will remain the same to access the site (www.conquestofthehorde.com)

  Server Break - Important!
Posted by: Grakor456 - 01-10-2008, 06:04 PM - Forum: Community News - Replies (8)

Kretol and I have talked it over. We've watched people leave the server over poor characters, drama, and various other issues over the past month. Well, we're going to do something about it.

First, Kretol decided he needed a break. So, the server will likely be down for a while. We don't have a firm timeline as of yet as to how long the server will be down, but the ballpark is over a week. That may be shortened or lengthened depending on how we feel over the course of the break.

We won't be idle during it, though. We'll be discussing ways to make the server better upon its return, including stricter rules on character creation, rules regarding behavior, and ways to reduce the GM work-load so we're not all burnt out so much.

We'll be posting more information here as it comes out, so stay tuned.

Playeritems Table Bug - Duplicate Items
Posted by: Kretol - 01-08-2008, 04:33 AM - Forum: Community News - No Replies

Regrettably, a rather hefty bug occurred that regarded the playeritems table. With this, it seems folks were getting duped items, knowingly or not, and was causing quite a mess.

Unfortunately, to fix it I had to remove all items that had been duplicated (whether it was obvious from a player perspective or not). This means that pretty much any character that was played within the past day (or thereabouts) was affected, and you may have issues ranging from missing a couple items to having your entire visible armor set(s) gone.

GMs will be replacing custom weapons and armor that have been previously purchased at no charge. Silver token-acquired items will probably be on a case-by-case basis at the GM's discretion. Unfortunately, any items acquired by normal means (loot, vendor-purchased, etc) will have to be reacquired by those same means.
---
The only exception to this are purchased tier sets - if you find your normal tier set gone, find the set ID on WoWHead and have that ready when speaking to a GM. We will be able to add the entire set to you with a single command, so again, have it ready. (You can find the setID by searching for the name of the set on WoWHead, and in the search results, selecting the set will display the setID in the URL)

  Server Down Temporarily
Posted by: Kretol - 12-30-2007, 10:54 PM - Forum: Community News - Replies (1)

Due to a horrible bog-down due to poor design of the realmstatus panel of the author, I decided to keep the server down for a few minutes to update it.

It will be back up in several minutes.
