Alrighty, let's get this started.
First! Pick one of your characters or a couple if you feel like doing that many!
Next up! Pick a song that fits your character. It could fit their go lucky personality, it could describe the struggle of a life they live or just be some background music that you can picture them slaughtering their foes to. Just something that you can relate back to.
Finally! Write up a bit explaining your choice. Did you pick a tavern-esque shanty with a bit of a dark tone because your character is a drinker with a nasty past... or just because it sounds cool?
I think picking ones with detailed explanations are better for the thread's conversation.
Also, As much as I like "You Know My Name" by Chris Cornell, it wouldn't make much sense for a Knight because a Knight, generally, is not a cold blooded killer. Make sure it makes sense.
Here's an example using my main, the Worgen Mercenary, Tykeral.
Tykeral is mostly a pretty nice guy but he'll change in a heartbeat should someone get on his rough-side, he won't just yell at 'em, he'll tear into them and get as close as he can to killing the person with mean words. I think the song "St. Anger" by Metallica (as much as I don't like the song as a song , it has nice lyrical value for this instance...also Metallica \m/) is a good fit for Tykeral as far as his temperamental behavior
"He never gets respect..." and "You flush it out..."
-This song starts off with a guy trying to hold in his anger but he gets no respect much like Tykeral wanting to help the needy who won't accept him due to his preferred form.
"Saint Anger 'round my neck..."
-He wears his anger like a christian would wear a cross, his anger dictates his actions like a christian's beliefs dictate their actions.
"Medallion noose, I hang myself..."
-Tykeral uses the Worgen curse as a sort of a second chance at life since his life in Gilneas wasn't good to him at all he wants a second chance to be a savior to society rather than a burden. He's shooting himself in the foot though when he loses his cool and threatens to kill normal people in front of those he's trying to come off as a helpful person. The deity that seems to be controlling his life is also "hanging" him.
The lyrics in this song are limited so I don't have an extreme analysis for it but there is an example of a more in-depth theme song. I expect you guys to go wild with this and have some fun!
