Question about down-patching

I've been approved! Yay!

Okay now to the serious business, while not approved, I was playing retail, and patch 3.0.8 came out, so I downloaded that.

Fast forward to today. I've deleted the patch 3.0.3 to 3.0.8 files in my wow directory, but when I try to log into CotH it's telling me that my patching or something could not be verified. Does anybody know a remedy to this?

I just remembered I have a copy 3.0.3 on my external HD, thanks for anyone who was gonna respond but I've got it figured out

Well, there used to be a file in the WoW directory that was called Patch, a MPQ file.

In pre-WotLK this file could be removed and if you would run the repair thing it would say that there might be serious damage thus it needs to downgrade itself.

Not sure if this works for WotLK though!
