Belf Noble Concept
#1
So I was contemplating making a new noble house. Something that can offer what the Silverfangs don't. Silverfangs are a force of good, and I was plotting a house that's a force of bad. Political corruption, dirty business, the likes.

Perhaps rather than founding a whole new house, I could make it kind of a satellite house to a bigger one. That way whatever house takes it in has some added assets.

Well, the concept I had for this particular character is a not-so-nice one. S/he is a shark of a businessman/woman. S/he will use any means to keep the businesses afloat. Anything from slave labor to selling off their kids to whichever house has the most to offer. Disobey? Well, there's slave labor for that along with a quick disownment. Their dealings will be in construction, textiles, general manufacturing, and slave labor.

I leave this out there for all the Belf House owners to consider. Whoever offers the best shall receive a minor house! Let the Hunger Games begin!

I would be willing to make a character for the house of bad and evil. A soldier or merc, nothing special.

Most BElf houses are pretty shady already, they just do a good job of hiding it or nobody tries to call them out on it. The Sunfires, Seregons, and Novalights have been known to murder their opponents. Senn'raethi, Eduriel, Seregon, and Novalight enter deals with evil or corrupt forces in order to better themselves. Not that it's particularly evil, but I would consider it corrupt and illegal that houses like Eduriel and Sunfire have worked in secret with Alliance races against the law of their land.

To me it seems like a better idea to finish your existing plot with the Silverfangs and Lovar'thil, since that's the biggest thing going on with the nobility right now. It's also not a "good" plot all things considered, though the end-goal for some of the characters is righteous.

I was gonna echo this. Most BELF houses have a seedy underbelly to it. It sounds neat, Sachi---but uh, a lot of what exists will just probably swallow the mini-house into it's fold and include it in on it's already existing shennanigans.

Slaves is also a -very- interesting concept. It's something that happens in Blood elf culture---there's a basement full of Leper Gnomes being forced to work. However, it's... always been a hard translation on CoTH (Speaking from experience with Rensin). It should be something that has a -lot- of input between players. Nothing is worse than being forced to interact with someone---and I say this as nicely as possible. Sometimes you get put in a position there where you're like "Great, now I'm in an RP with x when I don't like x so much."

There's also the fact people seem to use "Slaves" for kinky time. Not a -bad- thing exactly, but...

Plus, ah. It might be difficult to do considering the only way I could see this being slightly acceptable is if it was with Alliance races. Can't quite have them in the city though. Either way Garrosh/Thrall would have a fit over slavery, really. It'd have to be -super-, super low key.

Thanks for the input!

Yeah, with the large amount of noble houses and a few storylines already pulling in quite a bit of RP for nobles, I'll probably hold off on this house until there's a need for another house.
